Two kids in day care is killing U$$$$... I need to pick up a second gig... I was thinking about be an Instructor or working in shop doing brakes and tires..  *Are you hours steady or does vary a lot? *Do you get paid the same despite class size? *How much BS is involved.. I taught Motor vehicle classes in Marine Corps other than a occasional Idiot I enjoyed it.. *Can you PM me some pay ranges? Thanks..... Ted | ||

The best way to find out good info is to contact the local Harley dealer that sponsors Riders Edge....OR....go to the range and talk to one of the instructors. Wait for them to go on break, stop for lunch or at the end of the day. Range exercises should be over around 2 to 3 PM if they start at 8 AM. I/we can't have people just walking out on the range during class for safety reasons. Plus it always pisses me off when someone just wants to B/S when I need to watch the students. You will have some time in getting certified. First you will need to become a FL instructor and then be selected to by the dealer to become a instructor. You will also need to get first aid and CPR certified. It may sound like a lot but its worth it!! | ||

Teddagreek: I run a Rider's Edge program in Nebraska. The advice provided by Wolfridge is good. In Florida you can probably find work year round. Your state will have some requirements as does Rider's Edge. Take a look at www.msf-usa.org You will find information about becoming a RiderCoach. The state certification course will probably require about 80 hours followed by the Rider's Edge IT of 40 hours. We host one in the Spring; maybe I'll see you there.
