JP- I just KNOW you did not say "welcome to the madness!" You nerd. And the Upton Dunks will work. If the NEBO Confederacy (the southern guys) want to crash at my place the night before, I've got a big-ass couch that sleeps two (so long as you don't mind playing footsie with your bunkmate, and you're not allergic to cats), plenty of floor space, and a garage for your steed. And no wacky tobacky this time guys, OK? Yeah, I'm a square. Beer & red meat will be provided. And possibly something from the other food groups. |

Yep, RT-101 Ex. 10, take a right towards Newfields. Go about 3 miles and when you see the 30 mph sign - slow down to 30 mph as you are entering town and the police will see you 1st! another couple hundred yards and you will see a white church on the right and the general store on the left. Take the right next to the church but a little before the general store, onto Swamscott St. Go down the hill - you will see the RR tracks. There is a "X" painted in the street for the RR crossing. My driveway is on the left right where the "X" is ("X" marks the spot!), between 2 white houses, #17. My house is the 2nd one up from the tracks and the driveway is between the 2nd and 3rd house up from the tracks. (Message edited by scott_in_nh on August 08, 2007) |

Wow. It's currently 55 degrees at the peak, with sustained 51 mph winds & gusts up to 65 mph. I wonder what wind speed will keep us off the Mountain? Mount Washington Observatory |

last year it took 3 days to go up there I think the windspeed was around seventy mile and hour. I just change my oil, was in the oil section of pep boys looking for a synthetic oil when I picked up the lucas syn racing oil and read that it is good in motorcycles expecualy harley davidsons, at 7 dollers a quart it is a bargain, does anyone know what and were I can get trany fluid, I have read the new modles do not take regular 20-50 wt oil and the clutch will slip so I need to change that oil and do not know what to use except going to manchester buell and buying there brand? |

think,if there were enough Uly riders you could divert off of 175s and head east about 2mi. to right at Sandwich Notch rd. south and ride the road that the Uly was built for.Believe me... i've mountainbiked and 4x4d' it to the town of Sandwich just north of Meredith.Where the roadies would converge back with you. Things that make you go.. |

Ixnay on the mountain ayy. Aww, C'mon... I want to ride that thing if they'll let us. I mean, so long as we're in the area we might as well give it a shot. |

I want to tell you guys now incase I forget that on the way down tilt your mirrors away from you, I was going down when in a turn the sun blinded me from feflecting off my mirrors hit right in my eys, could have been bad, so I figured I will tell everyone now so I do not forget on the on the mt washington, also check your front brakes to make sure they are in good working order, if anyone get hurt I am going to feel responcable, I do not want that, if you take a one of those plastic wire ties and pull the lever in as far as you can and use the wirer tie to hold it there overnite, this is a trick I learned to get air out of the line, the air slowly makes its way up and by doing this you will get any air out of the line, also, we need to come up with a time to meet, the road closes at 7pm so we should go up at 6pm so we should plan for that, and also see if there are more places to go before going up the mountain, and think between 10am and 1pm would be good, but since I am a knewbee I do not know how you guys work this out so I will leave this for you guys to figure it out, any time is good for me, but the earlyer the better for more riding time. |

Absolutely!!! Always stop by with low expectations and a backup route. If they let us up (and their safety restrictions are strict) then we'll be ok. If they don't let us up...then we continue on to Bear Notch, Kanc and others. But do plan on heading to MTW to see if it's open to bikes. |

"Are motorcycles allowed on the Auto Road? Yes, and as with any vehicle operations, it is weather and conditions permitting. High winds, wet conditions and other safety considerations can close the Auto Road to motorcycles. The cost is $12 for motorcycle and operator. Riders may want to join us for the “Ride to the Sky,” our annual “motorcycles only” days in June." this is from the mountains site...if there is a place where peeps are meeting let me know. i live in orange, ma and need to get going pretty early |

A place to meet... Greg & Nate from RI... Jim from Taunton... Scotty_j, Eric, Erik, myself from central... Mike from Peabody... Powermedic1 from way the hell out in no-where... ...and all those whom I haven't named coming from where-ever they may be... All heading to Scott_in_nh... How about everybody meet in Amesbury for 9 am at the dunks off exit 55 from 495, 58B from 95: http://maps.google.com/maps?sourceid=navclient&ie= UTF-8&rlz=1T4GGLJ_en___US220&um=1&q=dunken+donuts& near=Amesbury,+MA&fb=1&cid=0,0,1536583281434307494 8&sa=X&oi=local_result&resnum=1&ct=image It's easy to get to and from 95 from there. We can meet up and head to a breakfast place of Scott_in_nh's suggestion for a full breakfast and then head up to Conway. Those close to each other can figure out where and when to hook up for the ride to Amesbury... (Message edited by jpb on August 09, 2007) |

Thought i wasn't logged in. Nice suggestion JP. Susie is considering riding along. That kind of stinks for me because the X1 has worn tires. Not bald or beyond wear bars....nevermind it'll make it.We tentatively plan on staying overnight in Bellingham the night before. We should ALL plan on hitting the road by 6a. Dunks in Amesbury.....right at the end of 495 and at 95. |

Dunks in Amesbury ought to work. Good place for all paths to cross. Know any good diners in your area, Scott? Say, 8am? Earlier? And where the hell are the Eric(k)s? (Message edited by scotty_j on August 09, 2007) |

I think the Amesbury Dunks is easier for the seperate area groups to meet up at...less back tracking... Figure it will take Jim 1.5-2 hours to get to Amesbury from Taunton (with a stop in Westwood to pick up his budy)... If the central ma crew meets up at the Upton Dunks that is 1:10 to Amesbury... Shall we say everybody hits Amesbury between 8 & 8:30? Group leaves by 8:45 at the latest (stragelers to catch up on their own) to meet up with the NH guys at a place Scott_in_nh picks out.
