Other than the obvious powerplant and front fascia mods. The bike looks nearly identical to the Firebolt. The seat, air box, and tail section are all the same. So are the handlebar and clamps. So, why the huge name change? We knew our original Firebolts' would eat the lunch of most other middleweights in all around performance if only they had more power. Now it has more power and the XB frame, yet the name has gone away. What gives? |

it is NOT an XB with just another motor.... it IS a totally NEW frame and swingarm look close at the pics on the Buell website...you will see a LARGE opening in the middle of the frame to accomodate the DUAL throttle bodies...it also holds alot more fuel and when you get to sit on one....MMMMM BABY |

the X of the XB frame is GONE on the 1125r. It isn't needed because the motor is rigidly mounted to the frame too. They chose to save time and money on a mule by using the firebolt parts I'm sure (at $250k each for the molds I can see why!) and I'm sure it was such a good match that they decided to keep using them and continue to save the $ by using molds that are already bought and paid for. |

That, and with the XBR tail section you can fit a XBRR body set on her no problem. Same goes with the the front. Things that make you go hmmmm... |

Well seeing that I still have the custom seats that have the Firebolt logo, a tail bag with the logo, and a airbox cover with the Firebolt logo, my 1125R WILL be a 1125R Firebolt! It may be mostly from a clean slate but it's obvious that they started from the Firebolt concept. No reason it can't be a Firebolt, at least from a parts standpoint anyway. |

BTW, the XBRR tail has already been photoshopped onto this bike in another thread with photoshop in its name. It looks stunning on this bike.} |

Guys, whats with the name? So they used pieces from a bike chassis that was way ahead of its time, Big deal. To me that makes good sense, keeps our prices down, parts will be more available and I'm sure that makes those of use who work on our own bikes very happy. Look at it like this, Buell had what some would call the best chassis on the market but it had a 50 year old, updated to death power plant. Now it wont be like taking a knife to a gun fight, the playing field is level and we wont have to be all proud that our 1200 cc monster just nipped out that 1999 R6 by over 1/2 a wheel. Bring on the big boys and lets see what we can do in TRUE "battle twin glory". |

Another thing that might be going on is simple marketing. The XB is known for its handling but not for its power, its a more sedate and urban warrior than its brothers from the orient. If they had used the XB name on this bike then it could have hurt sales as people who owned an XB would consider it just a newer version of the bike they have in the garage. Playing this 1125 card will open a few eyes to what they never really seen in an XB, POWER and cornering like no other. Now, like all marketing, only time will tell. The bikes need to get out there, kick some ricer ass, clown a the MV's and last but not least. "GO DUC HUNTING"! Great, now I'm all excited and still have to wait, just freekin great. |

So they used pieces from a bike chassis that was way ahead of its time, Big deal. Just so you understand the reason I stated what I did was cause all the XBRR body work will fit on a Firebolt tail and the XBRR front will fit on the 1125r's front. Whihc means they must have thought into this so they can run the XBRR's full faired body work for future racing projects IE on the world stage or for private racers without having to develope another set. OR The XBRR was a platform to test the new XB's motor's config and the 1125's front faring... |

Wow! I just stopped an picked up the brochure at the Harley Shop in Tyler Texas and I am even more impressed. I guess all those brand new 03 and 04 Firebolts will sit another five years. |

My "50 year old updated to death power plant" has enough power for me thank you very much. That being said... My 2 pennies... The 1125 is a needed/ welcome addition to the Buell family. Different strokes for different folks. Air or water you now have the choice!! I say it's all good!! |
