I didn't see a helmet lock mentioned in the specifications. Is there a helmet lock on the bike? |

Ah! Thanks for asking this question. I just assume there would be because my Suzuki has one...but I guess a lot of bikes don't have them. Do most Buells have helmet locks? |

The only Buell that has a traditional helmet lock is the Ulysses. My Lightning Long has a little wire loop in the toolkit that you're supposed to loop through your helmet D-rings and hook over a seat latchpin, then lock your seat down to secure the whole thing. It's a pain to use and most of the time I just carry my helmet. |

even with bikes that have a helmet lock i still use a small bicycle cable lock. helmet straps can be easily cut with a knife, lost a helmet to a knife carrying thief many years ago |

I put a harley helmet lock, I bought at the shop, on my left passenger foot rest. It basically keeps an honest man honest. |

you can always get the chrome HD helmet lock to mar up the paint and add some bling at the same time! |

It's looking like Buell forgot the helmet lock since they're "mum" on this question. What about the "built from the rider up" slogan? I guess they figure most riders don't wear helmets...........they are owned by HD. It's not going to stop me from buying one, but I guess I'll have to take my HD helmet lock of off my XB for my new 1125R. |

Just to remind folks that there are a wide variety of opinions, I'd NEVER have a helmet lock on a motorcycle. . . it'd be wasted. But then I would NEVER leave my helmet on the bike . . . I'm a guy who keeps it in my lap when I fly rather than have it out of my sight and in the hands of the baggage handlers. I think watching that guy piss in a helmet in Daytona soured me. |

The tail subframe has a tab under the passenger seat that the D-Ring of your helmet can be looped over. Pop the seat back on, and it's "locked". |

Thanks for the addition of the helmet lock! I always ride with a helmet and I lock it on the bike when not in use. |

There have been some genuinely funny posts on the 1125r pages lately. Donutclub asks: "What about the "built from the rider up" slogan? I guess they figure most riders don't wear helmets...........they are owned by HD." and from the "Future Tech For Future Buells" thread, Swordsman wants... : "A rear cylinder plug that can be removed without a freakin' exorcism." No doubt that the XB's and the new 1125r are much better bikes than the tubers that preceded them but the legacy lives on. |

The only problem with stuffing 800 lbs of technology in a 400 lb bike is, packaging makes one or two things difficult. If you can't find a priest for a rear plug exorcism, I may be able to put you in touch with a contortionist from Cirque... |

I stopped buying expensive helmets several years ago. I just hang it on the footpegs and no one seems to want to take it. It might have a lot to do with all the scratches on the exterior from ME dropping it on the ground all the time. Now the pissing in it thing, doesn't motorcycles, testosterone and alcohol make such a wonderful mix at Daytona? Reminds me of the slogan 'Instant Ass****, just add alcohol' or urine as the case may be, voila! (Message edited by CurtyD on August 04, 2007) |
