I cant get the front lower rocker box seated all the way down. It appears as though the rocker arms are contacting the front push rod and the front valve spring and wont let it go any lower. I know if i move the bike in geat the springs and the pushrods change height but it still wont go down. Any thoughts here. The front one was a pain. The back went so well. |

The lifters aren't on the heel of their respective cams. Slowly rotate the engine and it'll get closer. As long as every thing is seated properly, you can't really get it wrong anyway. The engine is going to sound like you left something in there when you start it up. It may take a while for the lifters to fill back up(make sure you didn't really leave something in there, btw). |

There is about 1/16 inch gap under the lower rocker. Do i just tighten it down to the specs and it will press into its own proper position? |

Yes, that's fine. Make sure the pushrods are seated in the lifters and the pushrod tubes are seated in the rocker boxes and go to town. |

The 1/16" gap should close without very much feedback or turning force on the wrench, you are reseating the fully extended lifter and it will give as the bolts pull everything down. If you feel much resistance, make sure the right push rods are in the right place and seated in the ball sockets. Also, get the piston at TDC on the compression stroke first. If you're on the exhaust stroke the valves are open. Jack |

Tightened it all down and everything appears to be closed up. Just need to do middle rockers and top cover tomorrow and will hopefully be back out on the road. Thanks for your help guys. Been a good learning experience. |
