What's a good price for a 2001-2002 X1 in Southern California? I've seen everything from 3500 to 7900 (which is what they want for the demo bike at Bartel's from 2002). Craigslist and ebay seem a little on the high side. For instance, is a 2001 X1W with 16k actually worth 5200? I'm a long time Buell fan, but only this year are the planets beginning to align for ownership. Thanks |

If you can wait, wait for winter. I just bought a 99 X1 with 15K, came with a nice intake, needed exhaust, tires, brakes and general service for 1700. It will be a nice running registered bike for 2500. |

I'm with Chase, it really depends on what, if anything, they have added to it, mileage and if you know if it has been taken care of or not. There are usually tell tell signs that are visible to tell if it has been neglected. I have mine listed locally for $6200 (neg. of course) but the asking price is still less than half of what I've got in it. If that 2001 is in good shape then $5200 doesn't sound too awful bad especially if it has some extra go goodies. IMO |

I just paid 7400.00 for a "new" 2K X1. Was just sitting at local dealership, never sold. I have the original 1 year warranty as well. I also have received shock and front hangar upgrades. They actually have another "new" X1. It is a 2002 X1W. They are asking 7200.00 Mine was more due to PM wheels. Throw in 500.00 bucks or so for shipping and you could have a "new" one, w/ warranty, for around 8K. By the way, these bikes are inside and have been for several years. |

I am new to owning a buell but I am with the rest of the guys here. I paid 47k for my new to me 2002 X1w with 36k miles on it. So it all depends on what is on it and who has serviced it and what time of year you are ready to buy. Good luck and hope you find the buell for you. |

I think prices in California would be higher than Texas prices. I found my 2001 S3, 2200 miles, totaly stock and clean for $4700. Hold out for a low mileage bike that has not been customized or abused. Last year's 6 month search for an X1 or S3 saw prices around 4000 to 5500. A Race ECM and slipon muffler are worth paying extra for too. A brand new 2002 X1 is tempting at 7400, because it is the last year and most improved. But, you could get a nice XB for that. Here it is the day I got it.
