Author Message   Arillius13 Posted on Monday, July 23, 2007 - 04:48 pm:        So yeah, I'm going to picking up an 1125R when they are available here and I'm looking into getting my wife riding but don't want to buy a whole new bike. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to pick up some lowering springs or all new suspension kit for the XB12. Mind you shes like 5'4" so I need a large amount of lowering. I know this would most likely amount to some clearance issues but I plan on doing a custom side mount or under seat exhaust if I can get a good kit.   Buellshyter Posted on Monday, July 23, 2007 - 05:46 pm:        Look on eBay or do a swap with someone for an XBScg suspension, which is the low model XB. As far as an exhaust kit for a different location, good luck, I've never seen one. Probably a custom job if you can find someone to do it.   No_rice Posted on Monday, July 23, 2007 - 05:56 pm:        you will only get 1 1/2" out of the low suspension. they make up the other 1 1/2" with the seat on the lightning which you obviously cant do the same on the firebolt.   Diablobrian Posted on Monday, July 23, 2007 - 07:24 pm:        I have the Scg suspension on my firebolt. It lowers the bike a little over an inch. I know if it was my wife I wouldn't want her starting out on a bike this powerful, especially if she is small. Anyway, if you're serious about it try buying the Scg suspension to lower the bike. You could also get the forks modified, but either way it's not going to be very cheap.   Diablobrian Posted on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 - 12:49 am:        btw an inch doesn't sound like much, but it is a very noticeable difference in seat height. Also if you do the suspension work don't forget to either shorten your kickstand or swap it out with the scg part.   Penders_xb12r Posted on Tuesday, July 24, 2007 - 10:12 pm:        You aren't going to be able to lower the bike much more than 2 inches without running into swingarm clearance with the fuel pump, unless you put a strut on the rear, which isn't very comfortable. Just something to keep in mind.
