Anyone watch the race on FOX today? I thought they did a good job with it. The Aussie ran away with it though. Nice to see young Roger Lee get a top ten in a race he wasnt even supposed to be in. Guess talent really is in the genes. (or is that jeans?) |

I thought the commentary was at best mediocre. They should have used the regular team of commentators. |

Sounds like they were commenting for newbies. |

They were. Motorcycle racing is an unknown sport for most of the audience. If they want to get and keep the attention of the general public, they have to explain everything in a simple, easy to understand way. All three commentators, Freddy Spencer, Ralph Shaheen and Greg White are very knowledgeable when it comes to motorcycle racing. |

We watched it simultaneously on MotoGP.com on the laptop. Watching MotoGP racing will never be the same...No commercials. |

I lost out to poker on the big screen after sweet talking that barmaid all week. The closeups looked like they were getting some amazing lean, but I can't comment on the rest of the show. Me:"Can I get a TV on Fox please." Hot little barmaid: "That is Fox" Me: "Not Fox Sports, Fox Network" Hot little barmaid: "What Channel is that?" Me-the out of towner: "I think It's 4. They have the US GP. It's a motorcycle race" Hot little barmaid points at some cars on the big screen TV. Me "No, motorcycles. Just leave it on Fox" - I've been talking about bikes for the last couple weeks. I guess I didn't make much of an impression. |

'Straylians all let us rejoice for we are...etc etc. With a few exceptions - I haven't listened to commentators on any sport for years. Sound down - music up. I'm smarter than most of them and I don't need some arse yelling at me. (Message edited by danger_dave on July 22, 2007) |

DD-I've been doing that for years, cool to hear that someone else does it... Did anyone watch the qualifying? That's the first time I've ever seen it. Wow! they let it hang out. I really liked the qaul laps, stoner's faster in the kitty liter than I am on pavement |

'Straylians all let us rejoice for we are...etc etc." Well said Dave, I thought us Aussies may be out of it after Gardner and Dooan left the scene, Good to see the Aussies still in there with Stoner and Vermeulen |

It is degrees of lean, not percent idiots!!! Otherwise it was okay, I felt they did a good job of building up the sport in the US. --Sean |

The commentary was not for amateurs. It was BY amateurs. Some of the worst I recall hearing for pro motorsports in a while. Ralph Sheheen (sp?) has been around. I don't really like him but I figured he'd do better than that. They couldn't figure out that Nicky stayed in the race until a few minutes in. There was the degrees / percent thing. Something about more grip by leaning it farther. Oh, traction control on a bike is like ABS on a car - not like traction control on a car. Kinda like an engine on a bike is like brakes on a car. Anyone else think that Greg White should keep hairless? -Saro |

They're not ALL complete tossers, if you get a chance to catch the British coverage with Steve Parrish & co they're not bad & know what they're on about. Steve's an ex-racer too. |

You should have heard it when Drebber (sp) did the commentary (pre Ralph Shaheen (sp?)). That was awful. The Brit guys do a great job and they know the racers by the way the ride. Why can't they use that feed, at least thats entertaining. No disrespect to Mr Spencer, just he's a little dull comparatively My 0.02 |

I did find it interesting that the video feed was identical on both Fox and MotoGP.com with the exception of a 5-7sec delay on the web. |
