One of the 1125R video clips mentions a Buell test track in AZ. Anybody know where it is? G. |

Az_m2, Thanks. I know GM has or at least did have a test facility there. I wondered if Buell might use the same facility. Anyone else? G. |

M1combat, Do you have an address/location? If it's not too far from you it's not much farther from me. Thanks, G. |

I don't have an address but I think it's over near Havasu... Within 75 miles of it anyhow... I think... A black S3 in Chino eh? How long have you had it? Do you get to Prescott much? I've been riding a friends red Lightning lately as I've toasted a lifter on my Firebolt. Made it out to Chino a couple times last week but other than that it's pretty rare. So far I've counted seven or eight Buells whose owners live somewhere in the tri-cities... For whatever that's worth . Over here in Mountain Club myself. About 1/4 mile past woody's as you're headed to the spars. |

Havasu. Maybe I'll see if I can find it next time I'm over that way. I've had the S3 since February of 1997. They weren't certified for California before that so I got serial #2 of the California S3s. Don't know where #1 went but I did meet the guy who had #3 at Alice's Restaurant up on Skyline. Probably more than you wanted to know. Thanks for the info. G. |

Alice's on Skyline huh? Haven't heard of it. No problem . If you see a wet sanded flat black 12R it's mine . |

No wonder I missed it. When I get over that way I make it point to run through the twisties to Oatman. If you've never been to Oatman you should make it a point to go. Interesting little tourist trap. Thanks guys, G. |

Court, Does Erik still do the "riderless-parking-lot-crash-test" to convince the insurance companies to keep rates down? Greg ;) |

Buell does, as do all manufacturers, a variety of crash tests. Interesting to have this come up, I am in the middle of writing about Buell testing now. I am unfamiliar with THAT test. Send me more info. |

Do they ride them around the track at nite, with the track lights off? I would hope that would spur some improvements in the lights for the XBs. ;) And the MUD, who is running the bikes on the mud? Hmmm Arizona is NOT that far away. |

There is a testing track on the east side of Phoenix between Gilbert, and Apache Junction. Wyckedflesh, who still lives in Phoenix, and occaisonaly posts in the AZ thread used to work there before he had his "accident" and shattered his elbow. I'm not sure if they rode around the clock, (which might explain our weak headlights) but do know he did long hours in the saddle while he worked there. |

they use the gm proving grounds,i applied at modern solutions who have a contract with h-d and buell.they supply the test riders for buell and h-d.they start hiring this september and i'm on the list.when gm shuts down the proving grounds because they are moving to tucson area, buell is going to stay local somewhere.if hired i would be doing 200 to 300 miles a day of test riding on the facility grounds they also do off ground testing as well.i've done all the basic interviews just not the big one coming up in september |
