Just curious why this bike wasn't adorned with a weather name? Some great ones, like "Monsoon" have been suggested on here. Why just 1125R? Is this to appeal to the sport bike guy, was it simpler, or are you just following in to the automotive industry fad of alphanumeric naming? To me, when you go down the alphanumeric route, you lose a little bit of character and personality to a product. Hey, at least the Pegasus lives on. BTW, is this bike considered an XB, or no? I love the name 1125R...short to the point...sorta like saying "this is what I am, and get outta the way!". Seems to me like R1, GSXR,CBR,ZX all work. No fancy name needed for this machine to inspire character and personality. my .02 cents. | ||

I'm not sure about the weather (actually it started with fighter planes) name, but I do know that the XB series bikes were named for the X-shaped brace that is above the rear cylinder on all XBs. The 1125R doesn't have this brace, so I would assume that the 1125R was not called an XB for that reason, even though the chassis appears similar to the XB chassis. Buell calls the 1125R chassis the "Intuitive Response Chassis" so I guess technically the 1125R could have been called the IR1125R, but that doesn't sound quite as cool. | ||

I think a WWII fighter plane name oughtta be used too... I know "Lightning" rolls off the tongue a lot easier than "XB12Ss" 2008 Buell Warhawk? | ||

Way too many names already taken by companies that never make much product but lurk to sue. 1125R is simple and easy to remember, much quicker off the tongue than XB12STT. | ||

If we're sticking with fighter planes I'd suggest either the Nighthawk (works well with the black color scheme) or the Raptor (just looks like it could get violent real quick). I agree with Thespive - the alphanumeric names have no character. | ||

From Sean: I happened to notice the Eurofighter Typhoon, a fighter bomber, seems to fit right in. Like most other Buells which share the same names as some fighter planes, Typhoon is also bad weather! | ||
