Who here has used or is using header wrap and what do you have to say about it? I've heard the header is good for about 2 years after it's wrapped... Thanks much! |

Headers break without wrap. I don't think it's a major factor, but I don't know. It wouldn't hurt to pain the outside of the header prior to wrapping to provide some corrosion protection is that is the worry. I've broken two headers that weren't wrapped and one that was. The one that was lasted the longest by far. All the headers fail at the collector weld. I just have 'em rewelded and beefed up for extreme duty and keep on using them. |

Right on...thanks Blake! Would you go through the trouble of painting first? |

I'm wondering if it was coated with the Jet Hot ceramic coating that the lack of heat transference would cause it to last longer? Just an idea. The cost is about $150. |

Thanks Bert!...I just checked out Jet Hot online and that looks like a great way to go. |

If you coat your pipe to reduce heat emission be sure to have it coated with a silver coating. Black coatings radiate heat far more efficiently than silver. This is not opinion, but scientific fact. I know that black is our chrome, but it is what it is and you'll have to choose between being cool, and being COOL |

Too True. High Performance Coatings here in Australia advise using the silver over the black to reduce more heat. This is exactly what the factory has appeared to do with the 08 XB. |

I just bought a M2 Jet Coat exhaust in silver and cannot wait to install it. Yea the stainless is fine but I like the silver to match the rest of the bike. |
