Am I the only one who's noticed that there are no radiator fans? Or are they really there and it's just that I'm blind? Or is it just that nobody cares about the lack of radiator fans? So what happens if one gets stuck in traffic for prolonged periods of time? Does the bike overheat? I don't think that liquid cooled engines are designed to take the heat generated by stop-n-go traffic that air cooled engines can take. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks, I had wondered too. But as I understand it, even with fans, motorcycle engines need to be moving to get enough air going thru there to really not get hot. Prolonged stops in traffic are hard on all of them. Where does the air exit from the fans?

I'm pretty sure I can see fans in some of the front close ups in the 1125R picture threads.

Otherwise they'd have to throw quite a charge on those giant ionic breeze machines!!!!!

The fans are on the inside of the radiators. And yes they run when the bike turns off too just like the XB's only there are two now. Not sure about how hot it gets while standing still but my guess is just like everything else, Buell probably did their home work with this as well.

If I understand correctly, ducting guides hot air out the back away from rider. Cool, eh? Literally.

Is there any part of this bike that isn't cool??

I swear, even small close up shots like the one above puts me in a frenzy.

I wonder if any of the testing involved just letting the bike idle under the blazing sun all day.

I'd really like to know how it will compare to the XB engine in a long red light/ slow rush hour traffic scenario.

Yes, we have them idle under the Arizona sun with walls around and no roof so no wind can blow the heat away. They do very well when we are done with all the design details, which is not the case for many competitive bikes we test this way.

Awesome! Thanks Anony.
I don't care if they're loud or whisper quiet as long as they work : )

I could be wrong, but those look like squirrel cage type fans instead of the open style on the current XB line.

If that is true they will probably be significantly quieter than the current fans.

The phasing in and out of the fans should sound excellent : ). I've always thought that two XB's after a quick ride through the canyons sounded better than one : ).
