I think the new Ulysses ride on Dunlop 616s, but the Dunlop ads tout the tire as a nice rain tire for sportbikes. Anyone riding these think they'd be a decent tire mileage and sporting-wise for my old '97 M2? |

All Buell motorcycles since 2007 model year have come fitted with Pirelli tires. The Uly comes fitted with Scorpion Sync tires. If you are thinking of that type of tire, I'd recommend the Pirelli over the Dunlop. The Pirellis are renowned for improving the handling of the Buells, where the Dunlops generated a lot of complaints concerning increased steering effort and head shake and such. |

Well, I like the Dunlop 616's, got them on an XB9SX and then on my XB12R Firebolt. I had 208's and Michelin Pilot's on them before....to each his own. |

My rear is ready for replacement on my 06 Uly (just at the wear bar now). The front looks like it has several thousand miles left. Would it be better to put a 616 back on it and then change to Scorpion Syncs all around when they are both worn out, or would it be better to put a Scorpion on the back now and run a mix. Would I notice the improvement from the Pirellis by only changing the rear? I have experienced the wandering front tire on the Dunlops and would definitely like to change all around, but I am gonna wait till I need to, not just cuz I want to. Thanks for your help! |
