One of the funnier stories was the day a guy parked a Gold Wing in the employee parking at HD / PDC . . . |

Not so surpising Court. One of my buddies rides his Harley "factory" Honda 954 to the PDC every day. Harley buys alot of competitor's bikes and has employees ride them. After they're "cycle", they toss them in the dumpster. |

Buell, and everyone else, does the same thing. At any given time you can see about a dozen competitors bikes sitting at the factory door. Most the folks here are too young to recall but I used to do a lot of riding in a very remote location where I'd meet the guy who was in charge of Honda R&D and "play" in the Mojave Desert. He LOVED the S-1 Lightning . . . . One of the fun things, before the bikes are "dumpsterized" is the actually test the frames to see how the measure up to standards of rigidity. It's a shame Buell doesn't use more of that information but I'll just leave you with the fact that the Buell frame is a marvel of modern engineering and so, by the way, was the 1989 RR1200 frame. I hope the guys who are supposed to insure these bikes are destroyed actually keep track of them and no one is taking any out the back door, loading them on a trailer and taking them somewhere in KS to use as dirtbikes!

I asked a few folks about "the dumpster"....I was told they're destroyed first, dumpstered second. I had some thoughts about building my own HD with an old frame..."ain't gonna happen unless you can weld 1/2" jigsaw puzzle pieces together" |

Just saw one on the north side of Milwaukee. He got off the highway at 45 and Silverspring. I followed him to the industrial park near Pilgrim Road and Silverspring then I lost him in the park. So my question is, does anyone know why he would of been going in there other than maybe for personal reasons. I just don't know of any business in there that would have anything to do with Buell. |

There are a couple Buell engineers jetting around, using them in their daily riding, just accumulating "normal" miles. I'd not be surprised to see them in the Jiffy Mart getting milk on the way home. . . |

Buell doesn't need engineers jetting around for daily riding. I hereby volunteer myself to perform daily driving testing for the new 1125R. I am qualified because: I commute every day (rain or shine) 30 miles one way; I travel a mixture of twisty roads, interstate, and everything in between; I have logged 60+K miles on my XB9R; well, you get the picture... |

Industrial Parks are sort of a semi-secret curvy road route if one knows the park well enough. There's a H-D plant up Pilgrim a few miles from Silverspring. Looks almost like a test track, doesn't it. Plus there is a utility trailer company in there who sells new and used trailers and parts.

"There's a H-D plant up Pilgrim a few miles from Silverspring." That's the motor plant, but they don't play with Buell motors there. That's done on Capital Drive. |

Check out the 1125r minisite and there is and "introductory" video & endurance testing video. You get a few short sound bites of the engine. I believe I have heard that is not overly loud, maybe on the quiet side. I like the new sound and with the shorter stroke and much higher revs it is much different than the air-cooler buells. And it will NEVER be mistaken for a I4, which is definitely a good thing. |

So Court, drop it in someone's ear that it's only 700 miles from East Troy to Deals Gap. It would be nice to see some pictures on killboy. |
