Sorry, camped all weekend. Hit me up on your next trek out and I'll join you guys. Hey Nils, can you check to see if a kickstand has come in for me,...last name Henley. I don't think you guys have a current phone # for me. |

Ann and I are leaving Albert Lea between 6:00 and & 7:00 a.m. thursday and flying the back roads down to Dorchester IA to take advantage of 30 miles of really nice road. We'll cross the river at Lansing, IA. From there, WI 171 will take us to HWY 14 West of Madison, then we'll take the Beltway around the south side of Madison, and hit 12 though Ft. Atkinson, Troy and all the way to Racine. Brad, if you leave at 7:00, we'll probably make it to Racine about the same time, unless you're planning a detour... Julie and I are leaving in the morning. I know that's early, but I want to take my time. I can probably do an hour, or so, before I need to get off the bike. I know I've gone that long without it hurting too much. We'll be camping on the east shore of Winnebago. Brad, at what hotel will you be staying? I plan on going to the Boiler Room for the show, maybe we could meet up first. Interest, you might want to call ahead and see who has campsites left. We were lucky to get one reserved a month ago, it being 4th of July weekend and all. Hope to see ya'll there. |

I've gotta do my front brakes before I leave, I'm hoping for a 3pm departure so I'm not sure where that'll put me. I think it's at least 4-4&1/2 hour ride. |

I made it back home today, after 460 miles and 9 hours of riding back from MN (over 1000 mi for the weekend). Homecoming was great even though I didn't get to see the races or the new bike announcement (what is it?). It was good to see you guys again and meet new people. Nick, thanks for leading me back on 171, I found my way to the other end of 171 this morning after some exploring in Iowa, really fun roads I took to get home! Here's my highlight from Friday, didn't think it was that big of a deal at the time because it required no effort, but now I have Erik's autograph on my bike which is pretty sweet. Thanks for getting the picture Scott.
I had listed a bunch of track days a while back but they were all in MN before I moved. I registered for some this summer but both are in IL. If anyone is up for a long trip to either Blackhawk or Autobahn in Joliet let me know, I've got a spare bedroom for guests. I'm going to Autobahn on 8/11 and Blackhawk on 9/8 both through sportbiketracktime.com |

Eric - Glad you made it home. Yeah, when you turned north on 61 I was thinking that you missed the best part of 171 - Glad you found your way back down through there. That one corner that was marked 15mph and jumps out at you in the middle of that steep downhill right hand decreasing radius (when traveling west) almost got me. Then I was glad you weren't behind me to see my poor form. I was going a little fast, and for a split second, I thought about throwing the bike over and going for peg-sparking glory (and the lusting for it cost me time and half of my available braking distance) - but I remembered my wife on the pillion and so I clamped down and was able to get slowed down enough for a more sedate negotiation of the corner. But, I must admit, embarrassingly, I stood the bike up and crossed about 8 inches over the double yellow... I'm pretty disgusted with myself about it. I can't make mistakes like that - especially when I'm carrying a passanger... Funny enough, Ann didn't really even realize the danger - at least, she didn't say anything or punch me in the ribs... But, other than that, we had a good time. Nice to meet you man. We'll have to ride again sometime. Nick |

I have been looking at houses on Vine and Lakeview. I would work up here for a while until I can find a job down there. I would like to be able to see my kid more than a few days a month. |

Hell yeah, man. I hope you get on at Bergdales and help them build up their Buell presance in the area. Between Waterloo and St. Paul (North-South) and Appleton and Omaha - there is nothing in between for a real good Buell dealer. I know Bergdales hired a parts/service guy out of the Cities about a year ago. He's alright - rides an old Norton Commando - Used to work at MotoPrimo, I think he said. Young guy. He appreciates Buell, but he doesn't really have the bug. They need you, man! Duane Bergdale is a hellova nice guy, too. His Brother Vince is sales manager, and they have 2 other salesmen, Ron and I'm not sure of the other guy's name. Last time I was there, there was a new guy too, but he didn't seem like he'd be there very long, just my impression. Dude, I hope they find a place for you. They have an `06 uly demo that, a new TT and a 2000 S3T in the back covered in dust + 1 new and 2 used blasts. Duane likes Buells, in fact, he's the guy that has put most of the miles on that Uly - but they need help bringing in the Buell guys, I think. Like, a Buell SIGN outside might help... Hope you find a place soon. Nick PS - I've always wanted a house over there in that area. One of the big ones on the lake would be nice. I have an older home near the lake, but not on it. We're fixing it up and I close enough to walk to work, so we're happy. (Message edited by naustin on July 10, 2007) |

John the store manager is a buddy of mine from the cities. His brother started Bobs Java Hut. Wayne the parts guy is another cities guy. They ride really fast. Next weekend on the 21st they are planning a TT (tourist trophy). The plan is to ride to all the towns with European names. It will end up at the Bend in the Road in Manchester. John got Jack Knife and the Sharps (a real rockabilly band) to play. I am planning on going down for it. It should be a good time. |

I figured you'd know John... Wayne is a nice guy too. He got me a bottle of touch-up paint for my bike a few weeks ago. That TT ride sounds like fun. I'm doing an oil change this weekend, so I'll have to ask Wayne or John about it when I'm there buying oil later this week. I don't ride slow, but I don't like to run more than 8-10 over the speed limits either. I've had 4 or 5 points on my driving record for a long time and they're just dropping off. At least if you keep it to under 10-Over, you've got half a chance of either getting a warning, or even just a wave, and at worst - a realitively cheap ticket. So, if they're planning to go all Isle of Man on this thing, I'll have to pass. |

Y'all up for a move of your board here towards the top of the list on the Storm Fronts main page? The longevity and activity sure warrants it. Just wanted to give a heads-up so that you don't wonder what happened when you don't see the board in its normal location on the listings. Ride, lean, smile, live! Blake |
