I'm wondering...whats it going to be like doing a valve adjustment on the 1125? Surly one won't need to do an engine drop? David |

I've read the story of the development of the V-Rod engine. One of the initial, non-negotiable, criteria that had to be met was that the V-Rod had to look something like the original V-twins in side profile and configuration. I don't think Buell was inclined to constrain themselves at all in the design process. Jack |

after looking @ the new frame I would assume you would remove airbox and seat, and poof there it is. No dropping the engine.
No need for primary fluid/service! |

the v-rod motor is a giant fat water-cooled pig. form over function. the 1125r is compact and purposeful, a work of art to my eye. I'm just glad there will not be any more ridiculous posts anywhere about "using the V-rod motor in a Buell!!!!!!!" that's just plain silly. |

+1 V-Rod: Harley engineering, "yesterday's performance at tomorrows prices" 1125: Buell engineers being smart enough to work with Rotax, who has spent decades building performance engines. You just can't go from building glorified lawnmower engines to building state of the art engines in one project. Hat's off to Buell for enlisting a great organization to help them build what they envisioned. (Message edited by spatten1 on July 10, 2007) |

I concur. The V-Rod motor is great for its intended application, but trying to use it as a sportbike motor is like trying to stuff a marshmallow into a piggy bank. |

That sums it up well, ft_bstrd. On a side note, the VRods have their engine capacity bumped up to 1250cc for '08. I'd love to have a Night Rod Special parked next to my 9R in the garage. |

That V-Rod is REALLY a heavy (and not in the Black Sabbath sense) motor. It would have been a waste of time even thinking about it, as far as a Buell powerplant candidate. I did get a chance to ride a Street Rod, though, and really liked it; I still think it would make the basis for a fine touring machine. |

A better comparison would be to the KTM engine (with the added cc's), wouldn't it? That is what it reminded me of when I first saw the photos. |
