Every year they screw-up buell.com My favorite so far is syn3 MSRP reduction to 4.95 a QT! I found a few more since the update. Does anybody have an email address for the webmaster(s) could not find it on their site? 2 years ago all of their wallpapers were screwed-up I ended up calling all over WI to find somebody. They fixed it asap as soon as I pointed it out. I hope they have tested the 1125R better than they test their websites! |

South of San Francisco, not too far off US 101. It's a beautiful area, lots of good riding. Steinbeck's Cannery Row takes place there. Not to be missed is the aquarium. Seventeen Mile Drive is worth checking out too but...they don't allow motorcycles. |

I still have not seen the 1125R minisite. I can get to the home page, to the sports bike page, then the 1125R page, but the link for the 1125R MINISITE does nothing in either FireFox or Internet Explorer. The link copies and is seen as: http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/sportbike/1125R/# Is that the same link you guys are seeing? And that actually takes you to the minisite? Thanks, Jack (Message edited by jackbequick on July 09, 2007) |

It full of alot of crap. It gets more mucked up every time it is a new model release. I am no buell super-nerd and the stuff just jumps out. it's all over not just in specs. I still remember the "Buell M3" was on the site for almost 3 years! |

Thanks Barker, that link without the "#" on the end got it. I don't know where that was coming from. I cleared my cache and it is continuing to work so it was probably some bad juju in the cache files. Jack |

>>>It full of alot of crap. Tough to act on that but if you want to e-mail me specifics, I can get it fixed pronto. It's a huge project and the good folks who do it always deal, as I do in my work, with getting a lot of the information at the last minute. Tell ya what. . . send me your list of bugs and at the same time send Honda or Ducati a single comment and we'll have a race to see who's get's fixed first. Court |

Thanks. I'll see if we can't get it cleared up quickly. You can't imagine, between getting "studio" photo bikes, media bikes, static displays and stuff how much these poor folks go through. The engineers are trying to deal with the REAL motorcycle. The TECH PUBS group needs the REAL thing to be doing the parts and service manuals. . . they're good to work with and can do lots of their work with some gaps, but imagine trying to make sure you picked up all the "we'll get it to you when we decide or get the final" pieces. The marketing and media folks just want something that looks like a reasonable commercial approximation, hence the cute little quirks we all notice on the covers of the magazines who had photos of early "best guesses". The guys over on Sidney doing the internet site get the last of the last in terms of info. One of the funniest stories is the day I was sitting at Buell and got the "Mr. Canfield, where is the remote reservoir for my M-2 shock" call . . remind me to tell you THAT one some day! Thanks for your help . . |

You know what REALLY cool about Buell? . . . I got your email at 9:50:49 and I got confirmation from the Buell Web Team that they had received your list and were reviewing the items at 12:23:46. How cool is that? |

Got that one and a lot more! So my favorite this year is the 1203cc XB9SX comes with two 5th gears and a Blast air Cleaner. The weirdest is the small/big headers on the uly. |

Some of it looks like "copy/paste" errors. Not really unexpected when dealing with so many different products, with multiple changes to each. Probably too much to do, not enough time to do it, and less familiarity with the products than those of us on Badweb. |

Some might seem trivial others are just wrong information that could surprise someone after they buy the bike or prevent them from considering the bike(s) for purchase. Of course some of it might be my ignorance. Just a Buell nerd looking out for potential customers. (Message edited by barker on July 10, 2007) |

>>>Some of it looks like "copy/paste" errors. It is. Huge amount of details in a short time . . . cool how the folks here caught it quickly. As usual, it's resulted in at least one funny story this afternoon . . . remind me to tell you sometime. Seriously, thanks to all. |

here are some of the little easter eggs I found. 1. New spark plug: Only available for “front” jug? What about rear? Do they use the same? Simple Typo? http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/accessories/Produc t.asp?Menu_ID=2&ProductLineID=2&CategoryID=9&Produ ctID=4138 2. 1125R tailbag Does part # 91211-04Y really fit an 1125R? Maybe part # 91210-04Y? http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/accessories/Produc t.asp?Menu_ID=2&ProductLineID=4&CategoryID=4&Produ ctID=2232 3. City Cross Specs 1203cc? CityX now has a XB12 primary system? 57/38? http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/streetfighter/xb9 sx/specs.asp 4. Ulysses headers? Two different sets of headers on the 08 Uly? Some have “XB12” headers, some have smaller, longer “XB9” headers? Are we seeing a pre-release XB9X? Why are the images inconsistent? Take a look @ the pix. http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/adventure/xb12x/g allery.asp 5. XB12R specs Confusing line item about the blast. “Oil Capacity (Lubrication for Blast®)” Also on 1125R specs. http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/sportbike/xb12r/s pecs.asp 6. Ulysses Amps. New XB12X generates 8 less amps that the 06/07 models. Not great with the extra 12v outlets that come stock. Maybe customers will think twice b4 they use, heated clothes, heated grips, extra lights, GPS etc? Or maybe look @ another bike with more amps. New specs http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/adventure/xb12x/s pecs.asp Old specs http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes07/ulysses/xb12x/s pecs.asp 7. XB12R/XB9R 2up. A guy told me once he did not like the Firebolt because “it was not a 2up bike.” This was real bad in 07, half & half in 08. Most of the firebolts don’t have passenger pegs. Some on might think the bike is solo with-out an upgrade/cost. Don’t think I’m weird for saying that. Buell has another model that uses that system, the SuperTT. Some might not consider the bike because it’s a solo/monoposto. Just look at the 07 pix and the 08 pix. 8. Syn3 cure all. Are we really are going to put Syn3 in a 1125R? “Fits all Buell® models” http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/accessories/Produc t.asp?Menu_ID=2&ProductLineID=5&CategoryID=1&Produ ctID=4101 |

a few others, 1125R 6th is not 1:1 and the XB9SX has 2 5th gears. |

But on the other hand. And Court, please pass this comment on to the Buell web team if you see fit. The 1125R minisite is awesome. Chock full of images and information organized in a way that is easy to follow, access and navigate. If there were a website award of some sort, this one deserves it. The sheer number of individual files that make up this body of information is staggering so the QA to make it behave and sequence correctly is a big deal. This minisite is partly responsible for making my quick decision to put down a deposit. A powerful and informative web presence sells product. Just for fun, go to Honda's website and see if you can "study" the bikes as you can on Buell website. Nope. No way. Asbjorn |

Barker, Might be prudent to withhold judgement on the new charging system specs until we know all the details. I'm wondering if the "405W @3000 rpm, 405W peak" is accurate. Possibly the peak rating is higher? |

I second the praise of the mini-site. It flat out ROCKS! I can't even find charging system specifications on Ducati.com or Triumph.com. I was going to compare specs. BMW lists the R1200GS charging system capacity at 600W. That's a lot of juice! |
