There should be a contest and the winner should get a free 1125R. Of course you could not just submit a name you would have to do a short essay as to why you choose that name. You guys might not want to be putting your ideas out there yet? |

No name makes sense. 1125R sounds right. Storm names were kinda cool but this is DIFFERENT. I'd bet Crusader will be a hit with the Moslems. |

Taking a page from the naming of their last bike, the Ulyses, I suggest, and it fits on so many levels... Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor, the god of thunder, lightning, wind, and rain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mjolnir Mjolnir is the most fearsome weapon in the arsenal of the Norse pantheon and is used to slay any challengers to Æsir supremacy. While referred to as a club, an axe, and a hammer, Mjolnir was thought to be capable of toppling giants and entire mountains with a single blow.[2] Legend surrounding the war hammer’s origins vary: some relate that "The Black Elves" (that live under the ground where the roots of Yggdrasil begin to form, in Svartalfheimr; svartalf being a dwarf or "black elf"), Sindri and Brokk made it at the behest of the calculating Loki; other tales contend that it descended to earth as a meteorite. Consequently, many Norse pagans believed that lightning strikes were a manifestation of Mjolnir on earth.

How about a name that gives it an overwhelming appeal to the American motorcycle buyers in Japan: 1125R - The Raging Chrysanthemum of the West And wouldn't it be funny if sales boomed and it put the evil triad of HoKaSuYa out of business? Jack |

How about name it after my favorite warplane. The A 10!! 1125r warthog. Mean and down to business. You should see what that thing can do. Talk about reaching out and touching somebody. Anyway I like the bike enough that I got the first deposit down in my neck of the woods. |

After seeing the bike in person with the wide headlights and fairing shape, along with the 'gill slits' for the radiators the first thought that popped up was calling it 'The Hammerhead' as in shark! We are thinking alike, Bret. I told the Asian guy from Buell, with the camcorder, that it reminded me of a hammerhead shark. How about a name that gives it an overwhelming appeal to the American motorcycle buyers in Japan: 1125R - The Raging Chrysanthemum of the West Throw in some flag waving while you're reminding them of their defeat in WW2 |

The code name for the project at Buell was "Barracuda" ... Kinda wished they marketed the bike with the name. |

No spidey OKRA will not do. As a former Marine and with the comments that the scoops have generated. We need to embrace these devices HARRIER is the only acceptable name. |

I like Hammerhead or Manta, although either breaks from the Buell tradition of naming bikes after weather phenomena. Oh, wait, "Ulysses" isn't very weather-related, is it? Then back to Hammerhead or Manta for my vote. "Harrier." Named after the infamous jump jet because the 1125R's massive rad intakes look similar to the jet's intakes. The Harrier jet was itself named after a smallish bird-of-prey. Hmm...would you call it "Harry" for short? |
