Shawn did a great job with minimal practice, and practically no seat time on the XBRR at Road America. What most folks didn't have the opportunity see was him coming from the back of the 2nd wave Friday and Saturday to finish inside the top ten overall in four laps. CCS grids by entry date, thus to the rear he went for a late entry. 60+ riders in two waves. Unlimited Superbikes went off in the first wave, wait 10 seconds, and SuperTwins in the second wave. I had him 7th overall on Friday, and 6th on Saturday. Regarding Moto-ST... The RMR and JGR 1-2 in Moto-ST GST was icing on the very melted cake, in the heat. It was hot all weekend, and the stock XB 12 engines's ran well, and survived very tough conditions. The stock ZTL calipers did the whole race distance without issues. RA is really hard on brakes. |
