well, my 2 cents. This is the bike the firebolt and all XB line should have been from day 1. While I love my Uly, I have always felt that it was absurd to design such an inovative line of bikes around a engine that is basically 40+ yr old technology. That bieng said, those radiator scoops are terribly ugly, and from the pictures with a rider, it looks pretty cramped. Would I buy one, if they swap that engine into a Uly, who knows... |

Rest assured, the bike is not cramped. It's very roomy for a superbike. The scoops look good in person. In fact, they don't look as bulbous as they do in pictures. They sort of look like a striking cobra. |

Exactly, fugly. Pass the technology on down to the XBs and I`d be interested. But in it`s current configuration, I wouldn`t buy it. Blue frame Huge air rams Huge head Maybe after my 07 XB12 is paid for, I`d consider it. Nah, I`ll just wait and see how much it will change over the next couple of years. Just wait, the engine will make it`s way over to the streetfighters. |

I have always felt that it was absurd to design such an inovative line of bikes around a engine that is basically 40+ yr old technology. You might want to do your homework, just about every engine out there is 40+ years old. Do you really think DOHC engines are new?? I love the new bike, great job Buell. I need the 1125R for a track Biotch and the New White 12R for street duty! |

Well youse guys are just plain wrong. The bike looks great. Don't feel bad because you are wrong. I've been wrong quite often. They sometimes call me "Often-Wrong Tom". But not this time. The 1125R looks killer. |

"I have always felt that it was absurd to design such an inovative line of bikes around a engine that is basically 40+ yr old technology." That statement can be said about Ducati or Moto Guzzi as well. I do not like the way the air scoops look either, but I have not seen one in person. Up to this point I think all the Buell designs are timeless. I hope this one will be as well. |

I think that white 12R looks sick!!! That's the best looking XB Buell has come out with yet - and I would consider buying one for the looks alone. |

i have to say that the scoops at first looked weird, but aftre you look at it for a while. it is weel proportioned with the front fairing. from the from view it looks great and from the side i think its cool. I mean seriously look at the jappy bikes they stick the radiator like if it was an addon, they stick it anywhere and dont try to hide it. this guys have made a good attempt at making the radiator part of the bike. I can tell that the team does not only have good engineers, but good designers. good buell team effort. i will get this bike for sure and i will keep my xb becuase i still like the naked look. thumbs up i can't say enough at the wonderful job team buell has acomplished. |

I love the way it looks. I can't wait to see how it runs and holds up to the abuse so many of us want to inflict on it.- by that I mean track time Beautiful Bike. |

From my stand point, the first time I saw a tuber it didn't floor me with it's good looks...the odd shaped airbox threw me a bit, they grew on me though. This bike isn't Ducati sexy, it just looks mean and serious. Like the business end of a sledgehammer, and it has the sack to back up it's visual declaration. |

I like the looks. Its radical. A lot of angles and far from plain. In typical Buell style, either you love it or hate it. The price is good too. I would always like it less expensive, but considering the competition, it splits the Japanese liter bikes and the Ducati 1098. As for the Duc, I can't wait for the comparison test between the 1098 and 1125. I believe it will be similar to the recent road test between the Aprilia Tuono and the KTM Super Duke. The Aprilia was faster, but the Duke had more power for the street. It will be an interesting read anyway. The 1125R is not an XB. It is considered a new line in addition to the XB & Blast. Most the parts on the bike are new, engine, transmission, frame, body panels and fairings. I think the forks, wheels, switches are shared witht he XB though. |

It's gorgeous in person. We hung around to see the unveiling then drove home 600 miles in 10 hours. I'm still keyed up and went straight to the web site when I got home. I can't wait to look at all the pics I took, but that'll be in the morning. Ok it's already morning. The bike is awesome and must have drool all over it. The radiator shrouds look better in person than the pics show them. Only bummer was that they wouldn't start it up (pre-production model) Clear turn signal lenses on bike look better than the amber ones in the pics. I think I need those mirrors/signals on my 12R. All in all an excellent Homecoming! Bret |

Well we finally have a new engine and I am glad to see that Rotax will be manufacturing it and not the mother company. Worries about first year reliability should be somewhat alleviated knowing that Rotax will be putting the engine together. Technically the engine looks great on paper. As for the bike, I love the 5.6 gallon frame (61mm throttle bodies will help eat through those gallons quickly though) and I like the instrumentation and the other bits on the bike, but damn I cannot get over how bad those radiator scoops look. You know how you have a gut reaction in the first three seconds after you see a bike and it's something you just lust over? Certainly I know I had that feeling for the first S2 and S1. I know my S3 in pearl white had me in fits of desire when I first saw it. Particular Ducati's have the same affect for me. Unfortunately the whole lusting, aching, desire thing doesn't happen for me with the 1125. If only Buell had given the bike a 3/4 fairing like the VR1000 that just incorporated the scoops instead of making the scoops a design feature of the bike. Unlike our old air cooled lumps which in my mind featured the best looking motorcycle engine ever, the new 1125 engine, with it's water hoses and assorted cables and plumbing, doesn't have to be on display. The engine is no longer a design element that adds to the esthetics of the bike. Why not just cover up the engine with some bodywork and incorporate the scoops within? The fairing piece and headlights look great and leaving the open mouths of the scoops where they are would be great with a 3/4 or full fairing, but damn those scoops just look so out of place on what is otherwise a great looking machine. I'm sure that Buell will address this issue sometime in the future but until then I will be waiting on the sidelines for the next Buell model that inspires real lust for me. Hopefully 2009 will be my year for Buell and company to make my liquid cooled dreams come true. Oh yeah,I almost forgot. The stock muffler is God awful. But that's sort of typical for Buell. |

>>>The scoops look good in person. In fact, they don't look as bulbous as they do in pictures. Exactly my feeling. I, looking at the bike in person, have never even noticed the pods until I saw the photos. I'd sure withhold judgement until you see it . . . the thing is super sophisticated. |

Buell has done it again. The 1125 should be proof that these folks listen to their customer base. The 1125 overwhelms me in the sense of how much of what Buell fans wanted is in place. Anyone notice the rear caliper design is very similar to a modification done by a BadWebber on his XB. Can't recall who did it but was done with a Brembo caliper and a custom mounting plate. Buell watches and LISTENS to their customers. Congratulations BMC. No more looking at KTM, Ducati, or anything else with a LC V-twin for me. Furthermore, the ethical integrity of BMC is unquestioned in my mind. The price point of the 1125 is below what I expected. BMC could have followed the mainstream "profit at all costs" mindset that plagues corporate ethics. Instead, they offer the 1125 within the "fair" margins of the competitors, no question the 1125 will be a hit! Genuis (Message edited by asym50 on July 09, 2007) |

The more I look at it, the more I see cues from the XBRR. From the added ridgeline to the tail section (thankfully slimmer than the XBRR). The air intakes look very similar to the side panel fairings of the XBRR as well as the wide fairing. I'm having the exact same reaction that I had to the XBRR. Different... I think the only thing it needs is a paint matched belly pan to help with the front of the exhaust. Bravo Erik and team!!! Who will make it to WSBK first: Buell or MotoCszyz? |

If I wanted a Jap bike I'd buy a Honda. The so called "techs" at HD-Buell dealers butcher the current bikes and they are similar to sportster engines. Just wait til they get their mits on these. I don't need the fastest bike, I don't need radiators, I don't need fuel injection, I put up with it because the XBs are so much fun. I'll have to get a Super TT before they're gone and I'll be done with Buell. All the go faster guys will like it and will waste countless dollars and hours trying to make it go as fast as a GSXR or a CBR or what is ever the fastest at the time. Have at it, I'm done. |

I guess it's kind of like the old saying... There are two types of people: Elvis people and Beatles People. I guess a lot of people are really Harley people and not Buell people. Me I'm a Buell person and I believe this is their finest hour. |

"I'll have to get a Super TT before they're gone and I'll be done with Buell." I'm having a hard time with all the guys that seem to be bashing Buell on the new motor/bike. They are still making the Lightnings, and the Firebolt.... This bike is meant to bring Buell into a Competitive realm with the Jap bikes. Not only for the track, but for those college kids looking to spend dads money. Hasnt ANY major auto/bike manufacture at some point in their history have a major over-haul? My personal opinion: If your willing to dump Buell because they have a technologically advanced bike, how "brand loyal" could you have been in the first place? |
