Well I was hoping that these pics would change my mind but I still don't like the styling I like the engine and the fact that it's been built especially for Buell but the bike look to much like a RR, it's just my opinion but instead of a style like this I would have preferred the same 12r styling but with the rads and new engine.

Looks like it comes with a biggassed right side scoop too.

Wonder how loud the cooling fan(s) are, and if they run most of the time, like on the XB/ACs.

I agree Js. I wish it looked more along the lines of the Firebolt.

I just went over everything on the Buell.com new mini site for the 1125r. Those boys have been working allot behind closed doors. Amazing more hasn't been spilled about this bike before now.

I think they should have stayed a bit more hard edge on the styling. The fact that the fairing is so wide it covers the riders hands and how high it is kinds turns me off on the styling. All the pictures in the world won't mean much to me though till I see it in person.

+1 about not really knowing until you see it in person. But in pics it is darn ugly.

WTF is with the funky blue frame?

You guys notice the new colors on the XB's, silver coated headers, and new kinda cool looking timing cover area?

I'm sure by the next model year they'll find a better way to integrate the "radiator cowlings" while maintaining their functionality.
But, yeah, as it is right now I agree - BARF! I'm sure someone will say wait till you see it in person but I don't think my opinion is going to change.

Those cowlings look like luggage cases to me -

wonder if Micron et al will even bother trying to make a pipe - although with that kind of power people would be hard pressed to claim they really need more -

looked neat to me... I like the XBRR fairing!!
The XBr fairing reminds me of the XLCR fairing, an after thought and not very functional. Although I own an XBR and owed one of the few XLCR HD cafe's.

Wademan I just saw the new xb12r pictures. Don't care for the white and blue but I like the headers and that timing cover piece is a must have. I'll be checking to see if that will retrofit as soon as the new bikes are available.

You may not need more power, but holy hell, how much weight gain will be had by taking that muffler off?

I doubt that an aftermarket muffler could improve on the stock mufflers power curve. Just be louder... and weaker somewhere in the powerband.

We will see!

I love it. For the styling, think "evolution" rather that "revolution". Part of the reason Buell hasn't sold to the Rice Crowd is it's Different. This, although many tubers like myself may think sellout, blends in to the class of bike. It says what it does. Yes, I will wait till I can ride one before I pass final judgement...but at this point...wah-HOO, I'm glad we finally have a superbike! Plastic is easy to change...at least we have a bike to hang it on now!

I don't need one. I don't have the money for one... but I want one. I love the engine. I love the styling. Thank you Eric and company for raising the bar (and my wants) to yet another level... and thank you Chellem for the pics!

Those big air scoops just look out of place to me. If only I never saw a xb I might not think that. Perhaps a full fairing could have provided better aesthetics especially with the ugly exhaust being hidden. If I was to buy one that is where I would spend my money, full fairing. Hurry up, some one start making the fairings so they are available when I test ride, cause after the test ride I'll convince myself I need a new bike.

yes yes yes, just get it over with, put the full race fairing on it, and make it available in Team Buell Racing colors. Add some TT number plates for good measure. Buell entering the supper bike market, +1 Seeing it in person +2, riding it on a track day ... Priceless

End of the year.

>>>>hell, how much weight gain will be had by taking that muffler off?

I suspect the entire exhaust system weighs less than just the pipes from the exhaust port to the can on the 1098 or the R1.

The exhaust development is consistent with the overall bike.

wheel base is 54.5", 2.5" longer than the "R"
IIRC the dry weight is 375, 20 pounds lighter!

My first impression was the same...Fugginugly, but after spending some considerable time on the mini site... I'm starting to warm up to the idea. I'll wait till the second or third model year to see what changes, but I've got to applaud Mr Buell and the boys on what they've created. There's a lot more to this bike then just the plastic. And if I can find a way to incorporate some of that into my Scg...I'm all over it!!!!

So the final drive has flipped to the left side? Is the production public version going to be a split the case to remove the tranny deal? Just curious.

I guess it's true what they say about opinions...

The bike is AWESOME. I saw it, touched it, sat on it, looked in every crack and crevice. It's one sweet motorcycle!!

Just as on all Buells...everything is there for function first, then form. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you want to be a curb monkey, poseur, or the like and sit on your bike at the local bike night so people can tell you how "cool" your bike is...well, I can see how you might be concerned with how it looks. But if you want to plant a knee and pass people on the track, or show you riding buddies how good you butt looks in leather as you pass them...then this is the bike for you!.

Imagine having the agility of the current Firebolt in a more comfortable package with a KILLER motor in it. Sure, the liter race replica bikes will still pull you in the straights, but you'll get such a lead on them in the twisties and with the new engine, they won't be able to catch and pass you on the straights.

Scoops, mufflers, yadda, yadda, yadda...who cares. It's how it handles that makes it beautiful.

Amen Chad.

I see it as a engineer's bike. Function/comfort/performance before form.

The greatest thing about Buell's is their uniqueness (IMHO) and the exclusivitely of ownership...i bet that most of you guys on this forum, me included, are known at your local hangout as "THE BUELL GUY".

I love that, and think it is great...no one on earth is known as the "Gixxer guy" or the "R1 guy", because there are 50 more Gixxer guys or R1 guys wherever the are at...with this bike's intro i may lose my label, because i will have company now.
