I don't know if riders outside of the immediate Buell community realize what a huge milestone this is for the American motorcycle industry. The buyer off the street looking for a true sportbike now has an American branded alternative that he/she won't have to apologize for on the track. This is HUGE!!! I have yet to see any real details or reviews of the 1125R. Yet, I'm already preparing an eBay ad for my '07 beemer sport tourer. Although Erik has done well with the cards that have been dealt him and the gang up until now, I bet the 1125 is the bike he's been envisioning all along. |

I had the honor of thanking him personally on Sunday. I told him that all the hours he and his team have worked to make this a reality are very much appreciated by all the Buell faithful. This is indeed a milestone. Not just for Buell, or for Americans, but for motorcycling worldwide. We're talking about one of the best (if not the best) chassis in motorcycling married up to a completely new engine that is unlike anything else out there. Who the heck makes a 70 degree twin?? No one that I know of. While I don't put LOTS of stock in what the moto mags say, especially about a sportbike since they often grade it for race/track use....I am interested to see what the media has to say about the bike. |
