it would be interesting if this new motor made almost the same power as the xb from idle to 6 but instead of hitting the limiter just kept on pulling

Don't get pissy . . . I suspect there'll be some fascinating news for the "MADE IN THE USA folks today as well.

It would not be accurate to apply the term "Rotax engine".

Oh yeah...everybody forgot that Porsche had some input into this motor. My guess is that it's still made by H-D. Kinda like the V-Rod motor

Not getting pissy at all Court,Concor posted that I called the new Buell junk,I haven't and will not.I have read on other forums that this may very well be an American Made engine,if so I say(I know this is going to cause some seizures)"Great Job BMC"

I agree with Court. But I dont want a steam engine made in America in lew of a bad ass twin cam multi-valve plant that was designed in Euro-land

I like the Buell/Rotax partnership. Rotax would provide some good checks and balances and Buell would be the creative end.

That is my fantasy of how the partnership would yield the best engine.

I wonder if some of those that bashed other bikes for heavy water cooling, expensive valve adjustments(you know who you are) are going to have the "Character" to stick to their guns,or are they going to act like they never said anything to bash those characteristics.

Wouldn't it be cool if somebody designed a high end, high HP sportbike with actual street riding in mind? You know, wide power band, low end grunt, plenty of top end rush but easy to ride fast? Wouldn't that be cool?

3pm today we will see it done.

I really hope this is the case. I love the Buell philosophy. I've drank and enjoy the Kool Aid (er...ah...."Buell Aid") and I'm really excited about the new bike.

One thing I know for sure...it will be innovative and different. Just like I like my bikes. I'm looking for a track bike, and I've been considering a Hondakawayammasuzki. Now I can't stop thinking about the new Buell. I know it will be street friendly, unlike a lot of the race replica bikes from Japan.

5 more minutes till 3pm....bring it on!!!

Hell...is it too late for me to run across town to see the bike. Just knowing that all this good stuff is going on less than 20 minutes from my house is killing me!!

I see bitchiness on both sides here.
Geez I hope everyone has released some pent up frustrations!
The current XB engine was well designed and made considering Buell's limitations (mostly cash) of the time. And it can still be advanced farther if Buell feels it's worth the time and effort.
Harley's engine plant is capable of building top quality engines of any kind should they choose to do so.
I personally would much rather have a US made engine but if it's not it's not a reason to bitch over.
Anyone who thinks that a engine has to be designed and/or made in Italy, Austria or Japan to be innovative, durable or high performance is blind to reality.
Buell design is more than capable of designing a great engine and/or using outside expertise if need be.
I'm very curious to hear the background on the 1125. I really doubt I'll find much to fault with it unless it's more than 14K and/or Buell can't produce enough to meet demand!

Apparently some folk visit BadWeB for the drama involved with incessantly stirring up consternation. They wonder not about the new bike which Buell is about to unveil, no they are much more interested in exploiting the event to wage a campaign of derision against people. What miserableness!

Not sure I've ever seen anyone "bash other bikes" here. I've seen folks express why they prefer their Buell motorcycle. For some reason, those expressions of preference really upset a few folks. Those folks have absolutely no business on this website, and I wish they would either see fit to hush up or avoid visiting BadWeB altogether.

Some folks could crap a golden egg and complain about having to fish it out of the toilet.
Haha. You're damn right I'd complain about that!

I didn't realize wheelies are now considered "impressive" on modern sport bikes, especially considering that we have no idea how fast the rider was really going in that video. It could have been sped up or slowed down.

If I had an engine with that much horsepower, I too could do a weak power wheelie like the one in that video. I can do weak power wheelies now on my Buell which has a lot less power.

Why does everyone mistake SKILL for HP?

Riding a wheelie(power or otherwise) takes SKILL not HP. I can ride a wheelie on my nephews Honda 50...yeah, BIG power. Just because you can loft the front end a few inches(with 80+ft/lbs no less) does NOT mean you are "riding a wheelie"...when you acquire enough SKILL to ride a balance point wheelie...THEN you can comment on whether or not it is "impressive".

As for the topic of discussion...I think Buell took a giant leap forward with the new powerplant(I LOVE the name...Helicon...Greek mythology is cool).

I don't get why everyone hated on the HD engine and now are complaining "it's not American"...IIRC most here said it was NOT an HD product before so why is it all of the sudden a Rotax product? Buell used an HD design/HD built motor previously, now they have a Buell specific(I hope) motor that is built by one of the leading engine suppliers IMHO. I'm WAY impressed and happy to see Buell getting some recognition(they deserve it) on the global scale again.

You're joking right? There was no wheelie riding in this video. He pulled a short one with a twist of the throttle and then it got cut off. You can't tell how far it was ridden. And for all we know he could have been going very slow. That video could have easily been sped up or slowed down. Where was the SKILL again?

And I can ride balance wheelies, just not on my Buell yet.
