Galen, I got an email from Lo and they will not be making it down this year. They have alot of stuff going on right now and can't break away. This is the first time in the 10 yrs that they have not attended SPLASH and they will be missed. | ||

KEDO. what Cap said. But I think it's Sport LAPS Around St.Helens... minor discrepency. But the ride is gona be EPIC, with some of the Great Roads of Washington. And some of the Great Beers will be making an appearence as well! Not to mention some of the Great People on Bikes! We have too much fun, and you should be there! Some people still ride Buells even. Ride all day, party and talk all night... all kinda of weirdos, there was a guy on a tank sporting a 50cal. one year. All bikes are welcome, ( I ride a Buell) as are all peoples. Yes, July 27-29. We meet up in Woodland, WA. (Woodland is right off the good old I-5) on friday to eat and drink the night away ( our drinking team has a racing problem), but luck is on our side with an offical 'No Chase Zone' on the Mt. The real fun starts Sat. morn with a plan of attack, but no one holds you to any route. We make sure no one is left lost on the Mt., then we party together Sat. night, and ride some more on them awsome roads Sun. The single-track section is one of my favorites! Try to make it if you can, we have way too much fun sooner, Galen | ||

We are staying around the house here. Chris went on strike last Monday at midnight so we are not doing a whole lot here. Yup, that was my car. Now I now what a cue ball feels like on the break! So, basically what happened is a guy in a lifted Dodge Ram 3500 decided to turn into my side window when I was going through an intersection. It spun the car, set off the side airbag (thank God for that), sent me up on to a guardrail, airborne, and into two other cars. Basically I am okay. Got cut up a bit from the glass and some bruises. My neck and shoulder muscles are sore but the ibuprofin and Flexeril are taking care of that. Got some Vicodin but haven't had to take it. Back to the doctor Monday for follow up. Haven't seen the report from the Troopers (they did the investigation) yet. So just been taking it kind of easy. Could have been a lot worse. Damn, could have been on a bike! Seat belt and side air bag saved my ass though, that's for sure. Don't think it will keep me away from Splash, and I'll take a train down to Laguna if I have to, but I doubt it will come to that. Eric- I haven't met you yet. I'm so glad you're okay. This is what happened to me 10 blocks away from home when a tweaker ran a stop sign in a Tempo. He and his friends were hunting down a bag of meth. My truck didn't roll, it flipped and slid on the lid. My 95-lb chocolate lab is in there with me. The Steering column has my right leg pinned. The fire dept pulled me out after about 25 minutes - relatively unscathed. I am lucky to be alive. Seat belts SAVE lives.  Yep, WE'RE in there.  Yep, WE WERE in there! YIKES!!! | ||

Yep - I know it's hard to believe. It ran the stop sign and t-boned me between the axles and when my rear wheel hit their hood it catapulted the rest of the truck in a corkscrew-like motion and it literally landed on the cap. If I hadn't relaxed, it would have crushed my head like a grape. The policeman who took the pictures came to the emergency room where I was taken and he stood over me shaking his head. He couldn't believe that they pulled a live body from out of the wreck. | ||

Ouch. Glad you made it out of that one okay. Btw, I will be cruising through (and probably staying overnight) in your neck of the woods en route to Laguna Seca. Going to run from Eugene to Eureka and stay a night there, then go on to Salinas the next day. Got cleared back to work full duty as of tomorrow. Yea! Got some paperwork to do but I did get a copy of the report and the guy driving the truck that hit me is trying to claim he never moved and that he was stopped when I hit him. Doesn't really explain how his bumper almost hit my head or why he would have been stopped halfway into my lane. | ||

REmember friends, SPLASH FRIDAY. This year there will be no stops at the Mcminnville Hospital. Meet at Woodland for a 9AM start. Breakfast/coffee about an hour later. Then Apiary Road, Hwy 53, then the "secret road" from Beaver to Yamhill for lunch. Back to Woodland through great Washington County/Columbia County roads in time for barbecue or whatever there is to eat. I have to get up before breakfast to make it happen, so let me know if you're coming. Galen, I found a local beer called "Sweaty Betty". You want me to pick you up a six-pack? | ||

Duane is interested. (you know how HE is!) Ya'll gota make up for the 'Datona Bona' of earlier this year... also concerned and worried as to the whereabouts of Shawn. And Stuart. And how about that other guy?, he's allways fun.  Speaking of fun, S-1 and I wen't out to calibrate the sights on his new silver gun-boat last weekend. The thing looks quite sleek, and seems to scorch the tarmac at his bidding.  Also worked on the outside loop and various other arcane moves you do not really want to hear about now, but will be glad are there should the need arise. And it will. EXCELENT  THE GODS ARE PLEASED! Duane and I were talkin' about takin' the scenic route from the Tacoma area on down through the hills and dells of the BackRoads...
