2004 XB9SX - what happens to the engine if the neutral sensor fails? If the engine is running, will it stall? |

Nothing really. Mine failed the only thing You had to do was pull in the clutch to start and it would not run with the kickstand down. A new one was about $13.The hardest part of changing it was grinding OD of the socket to fit in the recess where it is located.5/8 if I remeber right very easy fix. 03xb9s |

Well, mine failed when I was riding and the engine shut down. I was doing about 65 so my rear tire was obliterated. |

Wow shut down! My neutral sensor went out 2 times in my M2. It seem to be nothing more than an indicator for the rider. That with my GP shift patten it was my anti-theft device. No one could find neutral and they could find first. No one could ride it. except me. |

umm shutting down the engine at speed will not lock up the rear wheel. now if the engine locked up than that would be a different story |

Nick, Check your clutch engagement sensor/switch. It may not be working properly. |
