i crashed my 2006 xb12s a couple weeks ago and after much kicking the insurance company in the ass to get moving my claim got approved. the dealer just ordered the parts but im wondering if anyone knows how long it usually takes to get a new frame from Buell? the dealer wouldnt even offer a ballpark guess. which i dont take as a good sign. Thanks, fez |

If I remember correctly I think the neck needs to be cut off of your frame and that sent back to Buell before they will send out your new frame. Yes it takes more time but you get to keep the same VIN |

When i contemplated a new tube frame they wanted my frame to stamp a new frame with my VIN#.I was floored when i found out there were still tube frames available. |

They just send the frame back whole... Frames come vendor direct... Buell doesn't even stock them... |

Tedagreek is not correct; these frames are directly shipped from Buell within 2-5 days of receiving the order. They need to go to the production line and get in a special slot to stamp the VIN onto them. The H-D P&A book may say "vendor direct" because these parts are not in their Franklin warehouse, but the "vendor" is Buell! It is quite unfortunate that there is a lot of misinformation about Buell parts availability, because 95% of the time current parts are shipped next day after receiving the order. |

Anony says: It is quite unfortunate that there is a lot of misinformation about Buell parts availability, because 95% of the time current parts are shipped next day after receiving the order. Seriously, I believe your statement. However, the dealer is in the chain of events here. It's amazing how much difficulty some dealers have in putting an order together. And they will always blame Buell for their own ineptitude. Asbjorn |

thanks for the info guys! actually, my dealer, Big Sky H-D/Buell in Great Falls, MT has been nothing but excellent. my insurance company on the other hand . There are at least two guys in the service department who are big Buell fans. Once i finally got the ins company moving the parts were ordered within hours. but it took almost three weeks for the ins company to approve the estimate. they kept claiming they never got the faxed estimate and pictures from BS H-D. the guys at BS H-D faxed the info over for me three different times. |

>>>because 95% of the time current parts are shipped next day after receiving the order. I've said that time and time again. Look. . there was a time when Buell struggled with the parts thing. That day is history. I got an e-mail yesterday that someone's dealer had told them like a week or two for replacement latches for luggage and a couple weeks on a seat. Hogwash. If your dealer tells you that. . . click on any badweb dealer. |

Big Sky is a great dealer, I've gotten both my Buells from them and my pop's getting a Ulysses from them real soon. Wish I lived in MT again so I could ride Beartooth with ya FEZ. Where the hell were you when I lived in Bozeman with my X1? |

i was tooling around town on my 1986 honda interceptor 500 im really hoping to get the bike back in time to go over to red lodge for the rally. last time i rode over beartooth pass it was on a borrowed FZR 1000. looking forward to getting the buell in those turns. and my boss who rides a sportster 1200 wants to race me up the pass. he seems to think his bike will corner as well or better than mine. for a guy with a EE degree, he doesnt really seem to understand how physics works. by the way, i think Big Sky H-D has a couple Ulysses in stock that they have already set up with Micron exhausts. |

If your dealer tells you that. . . click on any badweb dealer. THAT is exacly why I love the badweb. Our local dealer (Rocket HD/Buell) quotes 2 weeks for any Buell part. In fact, now they won't even order parts unless you leave your bike with them (this has not happened to me, but it has to a fellow local bueller). I don't even bother walking in their door any longer. Now when I need parts, Stone Mountain HD/Buell is my first contact.} |

Fix your system to reflect where a Item "Actually" comes from. Do Dealers and Customers need a special code book? 1."vendor direct" = Parts are not in their Franklin warehouse but will mysteriously appear at production for stamping (Message edited by Teddagreek on June 29, 2007) |

I'm curious does buell get the frames directly from verlicchi in Italy? Do they come to from Italy to verlicchi's plant in charlotte for finishing then to buell? I guess buell must own them too or they would be vender... Therefore being Vendor direct and "thats Misinformation". |
