Reindog, I am not coming either! The heat, the traffic, the lines, the cost, it all got to me last year big time. I actually left on Sunday AM and never saw the race. Funny thing, Laguna Seca actually called me a week ago and asked me why I hadn't bought a ticket this year. They claimed they are limiting the number of tix sold. I informed them their continued greed turned me off for this year. Viros always stays with his bud from Socal, so he has no motel bill. I will miss seeing everyone. Maybe next year. Scott |

Reindog, I already lost my LA privileges...I am a LB boy now. Actually, I get the keys on Saturday, so I will be moving this weekend and all next week (which I took off). |

Looked like great fun on the Glendora Ridge Road ride. I thought about coming down but kept it more local with a ride down Foxen Canyon Road to Cold Springs Tavern off the San Marcos Pass. This Saturday I'll head up north for the 60th anniversary Hollister Rally. We shall see what kind of a show they can try to "organize." |

Anyone from the San Diego area planning on going to the 1125r launch party in Monterey on the 20th? If so are your plans to bike it or cage it? I would like to go but dont want to head up that long of a drive by myself. |

Several of us are, John. Well, realy we're going to the US moto GP, and the Buell party just happens to be there. But I think most are riding up Thursday, staying in SLO or other places on Thursday Night, then continuing up to the track on Friday. The American Sport Bike truck and trailer is driving up, largely empty, on Friday. |

Bertman, Calidrew, anybody? Have you ridden Happy Canyon Rd and Figueroa Mountain Rd? Looks like easy dirt and lots of fun. These two lead into Foxen Canyon Rd which also looks the t*ts. Andrew and I are gonna ride Stagecoach Rd but that is pretty short and we are looking for more evil until we land in SLO later on Thursday. |

Reindog - If you are coming north on the 154 out of SB you can turn off on Cathedral Oaks Road (192) and go west about a mile to N. San Marcos Road and take it north till it meets 154 again. It's a nice tight twisty road. Painted Cave Road to E. Camino Cielo Road is another loop that can be continued on where N. San Marcos Road meets 154. I have not been on Happy Canyon Road but it looks interesting on the map. Figueroa Mountain Road I know is part dirt so Hell Yeah go for it. You were on Foxen Canyon during the American Sport Bike barbecue short ride. Foxen Canyon to Tepusquet Road bypasses Santa Maria altogether up to Hwy 166. Have fun! |

Reindog, I hate to throw a wrench in the works so late, but if you can cancel the hotel in SLO what do you think about taking 33 again, but this time turn right instead of left and taking 33 to 33/166 to 33 west to 58 west to La Panza over 41 to Creston into Paso Robles and stay at the Adelaide Inn with the gang? That would also save a few miles in the morning. |

True, true SLO on Thursday night is outstanding. I get carried away about the ride sometimes and forget about the destination, glad you and Tom are there to rein me in. I'm excited about you coming Al, though riding with the Ulyboys probably means I need to mount a set of Pirelli MT-90's and start learning to slide the back tire with a full set of luggage. I suppose depending on time that day we can consider taking the 58 and dropping back to SLO. See ya tomorrow, I'm off to traffic court. |

My ride proposal is: Do Malibu twisty stuff. Head to 154 Cathedral Oaks Rd (192) N. San Marcos Road 154 Painted Cave Road Loop Old Stagecoach 154 Happy Canyon Figueoroa Foxen Canyon Tepusquet 166 101-> SLO or find more backroads to SLO. Most of this will be new stuff for us. |

Professor office visiting hours have already been set up at SLO brewing. That is the place that was showing "Faster" last year. It is your turn to win all the door prizes this years, Calidrew. Unless I slurp them up again. |

Reindog, while in SB and as long as you're going up 192, you could take the high road, Camino Cielo, to 154 if you are interested in a really scenic, semi-challenging, twisty, mostly - albeit poorly - paved (around the potholes) diversion. It's where the hang gliders take off, mountain goats mate, the land meets the clouds, all in view of the ocean. Should be perfect for the Ulyboys. There is a right turn on 192 just after the reservoir that heads up the mountain to the "sky way". I'd be glad to show the way if you're not familiar with the area, but my travel plans are not firmed up yet as Jen's not going and I've been hedging. Kayaker George said he'd like to ride up with me so, if that's still in the works, maybe we'll hook up with y'all. Anybody have a 3-day admission ticket I could buy? |

Socalbueller, there have been posted 2 groups riding on Thursday, Al Lighton from San Diego area and Steve Slaughter from Palmdale/Lancaster area. Tentatively Al is heading for San Luis Obispo, staying the night there and Steve is heading for Paso Robles, staying the night. I am hooking up with George K, on a cyclone, me on a Firebolt, but our plans are not firm yet, although we are leaving on Thursday. We'll know more on Monday. Y'all are welcome to hang with any of us. Stay tuned for further developments. Are you camping or motel'n it? |

Thanks for the clarifcation Sparky. I'll be leaving from Van Nuys and it looks like the best thing to do is meet up with Al's group in Malibu so far. About a month ago the group I have gone up with the last 2 years backed out, so I am planning to stay at the love shack. Ebear hasn't got back to me about dropping off some gear so it looks like I'll have to practice loading everything on the bolt. |

Central coast news about the north Santa Barbara area. We have had a fire going on for the last week southeast of Santa Maria so I road down to check it out last night. Happy Canyon Rd and Figueroa Mountain are both closed from the fire. Foxen Canyon and Tepusquet are not threatened at all. |

I spoke to Jerry Johnson, who drives the Love Shack, on Saturday and gave him my gear. Basically he said that if those planning on camping at the Love Shack can get their gear to him before he leaves, he'll take it. He's easy to get a hold of as he sells Harleys at the Harley dealer (soon to be a Buell dealer) in San Juan Capistrano. Either Jerry or Ebear or Al Lighton can take your camping gear, so it might be best to call them before taking gear to them {and do it early this week, }. If you don't have their cell numbers, email Sparky for their phone numbers. |

Brian, Reindog, Andrew, and I are leaving Thursday AM. Reindog is in charge of the route, I'm following. I'll send a message to him to PM you. I sent a message to Ebear to contact you about your stuff. Joanne is heading up with the trailer friday AM, but we're way down here so I doubt that is useful to you. Al |
