When Buell upgraded 'the lump' with the current version, the info was that every possible upgrade was done while still allowing for the engines to be manufactured on the Capitol Drive assembly line. In 2003 HD did nothing to their anniversary bikes other than paint and new mirrors. They waited until the year AFTER the anniversary to bring out the updated Sportster. This year is the 50th for the Sporty, and again it's just new paint and badges ...badges? (somebody say it) So it follows that next year, or even mid-08, HD will upgrade the Sporty. What is more logical than for Buell to lead the way by introducing the street RR motor first. That along with the H2O motor and the existing lump makes for 3 motors in 2 frames for '08. Two aircooled versions makes sense for HD too, although Buell should have a powerplant that HD doesnt!!! Bret |

I heard many things from this post .. what I'm thinking is that buell is making the big step to became larger and powerful.. Erik Buell I think had never said that his bike have to mount only HD air cooled engine , But I think he always say that he want to continue in building funny bike different from the actually concept of bike .. I ever like the choice of the company , I like the passage from tubolar frame to xb frame , this give to the bike a very superb handling that the olds bike dosen't have.. before my first 2003 xb12s I get a 1997 m2 incredible bike all the people ask me if I built her in my garage ... but i don't made account of the times that I loose the footpeg on the road every time before to come out inspection of every bolt the time that I have to welding the exhaust , the time that i have to repair something on the road In our club in italy the 90% of the people pass from TF to XB model after going together on the road , xb result faster funniest, have less mechanical trouble , and people after many kms are not tired from driving it . after that i get a 2004 xb12 after that a 24 june 2006 ulysses this year after about 30.000 km (now odo show 19.000) I will change with the new bike .. so in this two years I think we will see the new buell era , like was in 2002 with xb9 r model .. but I think this thime the target is more hight! buell hit big target 100.000 bike is not a joke next step is 1.000.000 I hear some daler and they are surprised about dirt bike , but i tell to all of them Actually alpina raggi is selling 300.000 aftermarket wheels each years in USA the market of dirt bike is very large and no competitive bike are produced by an american company .. surely the target of the company will change a little bit but with the new bike and what it means there is a big future to write , and I think we will continue to drive funny different and very intelligent made bike .. and every time after drive it between corners and funny roads we will look at this bike with a big smile and a very shining light on the eyes to all my friend that loves so much hd engine and the most of them likes also tubolar frame , I say every time to look at the nighster is not far from "old" buell .. I'm glad of my buell and every time I will be glad of it |

just one half of the motor needed to build one Hmmm....maybe a new Blast? 1) Rotax and Buell working out the engineering for what amounts to a merging of the sportster and the standard rotax layout. That's certainly not done in a day! Doable, but requires time, collaboration and resources. My understanding is that Erik was spending a conciderable amount of time in Europe during 2006. |

"...every time after drive it between corners and funny roads we will look at this bike with a big smile and a very shining light on the eyes." Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. Trying not to get my hopes up, sure. But my current bikes only need cleaning and minor checks before going on sale/getting evaluated as trades, and I already have financing lined up... If the 2008 Uly turns out to have thirty more HP and slightly more wind protection, I could become a one-motorcycle guy. Ahh, anticipation. Anybody got Dave Searle's home phone number?

If Erik's number got out, I'd expect to hear something like this: *click* (20s MP3 of Erik & Thunderbolts) "SORRY THE INBOX IS FULL, PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER." *click* At least, I'd expect that until the "new, unpublished number" message from AT&T started playing... |

July 8th... my birthday! I have a feeling Erik Buell is going to present something nice for all of us!!! But, can't wait until Laguna Seca. It's rumored this year there might be something wonderful for Buell enthusiasts. I wonder, wonder... |

thanks I decide color and how to do it my friend bargy ( the same man that realize helmets for troy bayliss , capirossi, biaggi etc.. ) made all graphics the bad thing is that in the picture is difficult to note that camo parts are totally matt and red part is gloss |

Compliments to bargy as well! It's not difficult to note that it is work done by an expert, because expertly done. The paint & finish textures do come through a bit better in these pictures. If I had tried to describe it without pictures, it would sound cluttered: "racing stripes on camouflage." But instead it is beautiful. |

Posted by Court:Not to worry . . the XR1200 will never see the light of day. Do you mean ever, in Europe or USA???? Please explain. I know the XR1200 is no Buell killer or even a replacement for the Buell. But, it maybe be like what they call a gateway drug to some of the myopic Harley riders who don't understand what a Buell is for. Also it may help introduce a younger demographic to Harley buyers??? This is just my two cents. I currently ride a 2005 Sportster 1200 Custom. I love my bike, but am really LUSTING after a STT...But I do see a positive about get the Sportster sportier!! |
