I was looking at new buells at Central Texas HD. The price they had on a 06 city x was 7150. Then they added 699 for freight and 599 for setup and prep. Do these amount sound right or are they on the high side. What looked like a bargain ended up being over 9k out the door. Haven't bought yet but still looking. Bill |

I just bought one for $6050, "out the door". (Used) Warranty until 12/07, though. 3666mls. Why don't ya look into buying a pre-owned? The dealer here (Danbury, CT) has one for $6850, like 1200mls I believe. Pics of mine at the bottom of this page: http://www.zr2usa.com/BuellPics/?M=A |

Tell them you are not paying freight or setup on a holdover bike. And that's far too much even if it was a current model year bike. |

That's double what I think is reasonable for freight and setup. Brad. |

I wouldn't pay a dime for setup or freight on a leftover. I bought a brand new '07 Lightning Long and the dealer waived both charges. If there are other dealers reasonably close to you see if they try to charge for it also. Maybe the one you went to is the exception. |

They told me that it was corporate rules and they could not drop the freight and setup. I will probably make them a low offer and see what they say. I went and looked at a couple of x1's today also. I can probably get a 99 for around $3k with around 20K miles. It seemed a lot less refined than the new bikes though. I may just keep my eyes open for a good bargain. Thanks for the replies. Bill |

Just ask them to knock $1300 of the price. That way they keep the set-up and shipping and you pay less for the bike. Everyone is happy? |

I made them an offer and they never called back. Oh well, still looking. Most of the dealers around here still have '06's on their floors so I am going to shop around. Bill |
