I don't think McWilliam's remark should cause the knitting circle fuss that's now in full bloom here. He did not say that he like the bike better than the Buell. He did not disrespect Buell, etc. I ate barbecued chicken today. It was the best chicken I have 'cued in a long time and I said so. That was not a slap in the face the the French toast my son made me later that day. I commented on how much I like the French toast. Now do you see that? Both statements are true and do no harm to the other. The pro chicken crowd does not need to defend the chicken. The pro French toast crowd does not need to defend the French toast. So anyway, did I tell you guys about my aluminum seat undertray? Why I don't charge for my services is beyond me. |

I had barbecued chicken too, although I was aware that it wasn't anywhere near as nice as my neighbour's chicken that I could smell cooking in the adjacent pit. I wanted more people to eat my chicken than his, and was looking for someone to invest in a new barbecue for me, so I told everyone my chicken was great Jeremy McWilliams had chicken, but was asked to comment on the fish. This thread is now too surreal even for me (Message edited by trojan on June 25, 2007) |

Mcgiver, I know of one dealership sponsored team which has had so many problems with the XBRR's transmission that they stripped the bike and left it alone in the corner of their warehouse. Now they are racing a XB9 with a big bore kit. I believe it kept shearing off the output shaft, but I may not be remembering right. The XBRR's drivetrain was under developed to reliably handle the power IMO. |

"Blake,I believe he said the brakes were pretty good." That is inaccurate. "I was just curious if Bcord thought Buells money had anything to do with any of his compliments as he suggest of his C1 compliments." Again I ask, what "compliments"? Bcord, Your comment implies that Mr. McWilliams would compromise his integrity by making disingenuous statements in order to appease those who contract for his services. You owe the man an apology for making that implication because you have absolutely no basis for it. I can tell you that Jeremy is not a disingenuous type of person. From what I've seen, having met him in person and having spent a day at the test track with him, the man tells it like it is, thoughtfully and constructively, but definitely like it is with no embellishment. Whether the blurb originating from the C1 team that was reported on www.roadracingworld.com included ALL of his critiques of the C1 is an entirely valid consideration; it obviously did not include a comprehensive review of the bikes performance. I can guarantee you that Jeremy also had much constructive criticism that he shared with the C1 team. That is why they pay him good money to test new racing motorcycles. |

>>>>You owe the man an apology for making that implication because you have absolutely no basis for it. I kinda tend to agree. I did not get to meet or know Jeremy personally like Blake and some of the folks within Buell Racing did. But, based on reports, from folks whose opinions I hold above reproach, I was really impressed with Jeremy McWilliams, both as a technical development rider and as a person. To come to the internet and imply he lacks integrity, when in fact you may just disagree with what he's said, is not nice. It's really that simple. Court |

McWilliams gets hired to test ride these bikes BECAUSE he gives honest, accurate feedback not what he thinks they want to hear. If he starts shading the truth he will be out of jobs in a hurry. |

"pretty good." I think he was taking issue with that part of your statement... Unless of course if you consider something in between GP brakes and superbike brakes "pretty good". |

"I think he was taking issue with that part of your statement... Unless of course if you consider something in between closer to GP brakes and than World superbike brakes "pretty good". Very astute as always, but I went ahead and fixed the accuracy even more for ya. |

Your comment implies that Mr. McWilliams would compromise his integrity by making disingenuous statements in order to appease those who contract for his services. What I said he was endorsing a product just as any hired gun would do. I wasn't compromising his or anyone else's integrity. |

Jeremy McWilliams is a professional, which means that even if the bike was sh*t he wouldn't say so publicly while he was still contraqcted to or being paid by the team. He may have a few choice words for the team behind closed doors though. Since leaving Buell & Ilmor he has apparently made some less than complimentary comments to various people about both motorcycles. I was not present so won't quote what I have heard. |
