The ones selling for $109 are Euro spec with a 2" inlet. They'll only fit Euro spec bikes. ....Oh... and if it fits an S1 it won't fit an S2. I'm assuming that your exhaust has a 2.5" inlet pipe for a S1. |

I bet any old muffler shop or hand crank pipe expander could fix that....I never would have guessed that Dennis Kirk would have parts for overseas bikes. Didn't know yours was a 2 1/2". Sorry! |

THAT is NOT the one that I HAVE. Mine is Part# 16601. and DOES NOT have a removable bend like the one the link shows. This one is a COMPLETE ONE PIECE pipe. ** HERE IS MY ACTUALL PIPE ** THIS ONE IS 2.5" .... If is was not for a 1/2" difference in fit on the FRONT bracket THIS WOULD fit the 99 and up X1's... If it DOES NOT sell shortly.. I will fab out a bracket and make it work on my 99X1 Thanks, Matt.

Hey Mm128, why won't it fit your X-1? Front bracket or rear? Or is the angle of the elbow wrong? Only reason I knew of the ones DK has, was that I was scheming on getting one to mod up for my X-1. If you want, I have an SS2R muffler, carbon like yours that accepts a spring in elbow, I'll trade you, and you can make it fit your bike. That is what I was going to do(running a force header right now, little on the LOUD side). Other wise, I was going to have a DK one to spare, I have a '97 M2 I need to put back together, and it has no muffler. I wasn't trying to flame you. If you want, we can both buy 'em and see of V&H will sell us elbows to fit our X-1's....? Thanks for the info Steve. |

Steve, No problem on the comments... On the fitting... Its STRANGE.. I took mine OFF my X1 and tried this one. It seems that the front bracket just wont fit up... almost like its a tad too far back... Plus.. I notice that ALL the X1 exhaust (MINE INCLUDED) have (2) mounts on the front side by side... This one DOES NOT... Notice the one up front is ALL it has... I will goof off tomorrow and take some PHOTOS.. Then post them here to show you what i mean and IF it can be done.... I DONT see where there is ANY difference in the EXHAUST MOUNTING from a 98 to the 99's... Do you know of ANY differences???? Thanks, Matt |

I just bought them. The plan is to modify them to fit my Trophy 1200. The price was too good to ignore. |

Well, so much for that part of our plan. Uh, the only difference I know of is that the 2001 and up have a "Y" bracket up front with two rubber bushings instead of one. The hole should be in the same place. |

I got busy with errands and family things... I plan on getting out in the garage this week and seeing IF this can be made to fit... I DONT see why it cant... I am just concerned about the ONE mounting tab up front... seems that it could be a TAD on the weak side for the X1... Should not be a problem though... Family owns a machine shop...so... welding and fabbing is NO big deal. I will keep you informed. Matt. |
