Hey all,
This may be old news, but I was about to ask if anyone had come up with a parts cross reference for the Buell oil filters. Well, I decided to search the wixfilters.com website and sure enough, they list the Buell line of motorcycles. And cooler than that is they have a huge list of all applications that can use the same model of oil filter. So, if your parts store doesn't have Buell listed, just give them this big ol' list of makes/models to use to search for the filter you need.

Here's a link to the part from Wix:
http://www.wixfilters.com/filterlookup/PartDetail. asp?Part=51394

And if you click "All Applications" within that page, it will provide the big ol' list of other machines that use the same filter.

Just curious - is there a difference between Wix and Fram? I haven't had a problem finding 3rd party oil filters (seems that WalMart, Shucks Auto, Napa, etc all have oil filters that fit my Buell's and Harley's).

Very different between Wix and Fram. IMO and from reading websites that have cut open and studied filters, Fram is a horrible choice.

Wix, Mobil1, Amsoil, Bosch, and Walmart supertech is better than Fram.

Thanks for the post... I have an 08 Ulysses that I just purchased. I checked your site and the Wix filter is also listed as correct for my John Deere X475.

BigdogTim... What filters do you use on your Buell? Mine is the 08 Ulysses. Also, have the 07 Nitester, do you know the cross references for this one too? Thanks...

I have 4 bikes: 01 Harley Ultra, 00 Buell M2, 02 GSXR 750, and an 03 Blast. I have used Mobil1, Fram, and Supertech. I don't have the cross reference numbers - my local autoparts store (Schucks) and Walmart have the books that give the filter number.

Awesome, the cross reference means I can drive 2 miles and buy a "Kawasaki Mule" oil filter instead of drive 20 miles and buy a "Buell XB9R" filter.

Thanks for posting that- definitely saves me time and driving.

I thought the PH2870A was the filter to use from Fram

My Fram #ph6022 (Motorcycle) is for my 2000 M2 (Black filter) and they also make a chrome one but at a higher cost of course.

I have read that there are some here that are using a filter for a 5.0 ford. (Fram PH8A) It is larger so it should hold a little bit more oil. I personally use the long filter that American Sport Bike sells.
