Hey I saw this in another thread......
It's that time of year again! The Ramapo 500 will be held the weekend of July 14 & 15th upstate New York. Two days, 500 miles of twisty back roads with a campout/party in between (hotels are available at your expense). I only have a minute here...trying to work out the deal on Saturday with the girlfriend, the bike, quonset, a ride with Damnut, getting home...
I'll have my cell with me so who ever is at the air show...give me a call!!!
Now, I'm off to Mohegan to try to win some more of that indian money...gotta fly. |

Damnut,
I had my knee scoped and my ACL was f'ed also. My knee would lock in the bent position. Had to do all sorts of gyrations to get it to unlock. Had the arthroscopic surgery. Within a coupla weeks, I was back on the bike. Best investment I made was for a good quality elastic knee brace. Has the padded donut to go over yer kneecap. No twisting motion allowed for the knee. You can feel yer knee coming out of the joint. Not good. I'm sure all will go well for you but, here's a Good Luck to get you started!!

Any of you guys have any rear passenger pegs ya can part with?
I bought a seat and part of the deal was I send him some rear pegs that I thought i had in the shed...wrong they are rider pegs...
So now I am in need of some rears if any you guys have any kicking around. |

Damnut - I'm interested in that ride in NY. I'll need a couple of days to check on scheduling and funds.
Anybody else at least interested? There are bonuses and prizes for groups (need to have 6 to be a group).
It's only 180 miles to the start from my place - a good warm up!!! |

Alright. What's the deal for Saturday? Who What Where When? It's pretty much a straight shot south for me (126-99-295) but if anybody knows a way to make it interesting, I'm up for a detour.
I'll pass on Ramapo. Something about those organized, sanctioned rides turns me off.

I probably won't make the group ride there...still trying to work out the logistics of the day with Audra...but I'll keep you posted...make plans and if available/workable I'll jump into whatever you have put together. Also, I won't be able to head out of Somerset until 10am...got to wait for Audra to be done with her meeting... |

As far as Saturday's concerned....... I'll go riding with Jpb in the morning then I might go get my brother's full dresser so I can take my girl with me to the airshow...... that is if she wants to go. |

I will be going to the bike night, should be a good turnout due to the weather and the chrome junkies will want to show there bling junk around.

Scotty_j: I'm guess that was irony on the net again...but I'll explain anyway...
The Saturday ride with Damnut was to keep me busy while the woman was in her meeting...I mentioned that my plans for the day included the airshow...and it seems everybody else had that in mind as well...
Because the airshow is farther away than Audra can take on the back seat...I have to find a place to get her car parked where we can ride in together...and then go to Newport or something like that after the show...and I know she won't want to be following us 'crotch rocket' types in her car.
So - that's why I won't be part of the ride to the show...unless...who knows - I haven't worked out the logistics yet...
I was planning on being at the bike show tonight but I've had a migraine pounding me since 3 this am...and I'm feeling close to puking...if it doesn't settle down by 5...I have NO BUSINESS being behind the wheel of a car...let alone riding only 2 wheels... I'll be trying my best...oh yeah - the meds for the migraine tend to make you sick to your stomache too so it's really a crap shoot!!!
Damnut - I didn't get to work things out with Audra yet and she is picking up a shift at the pub tonight so we won't have it figured out until tomorrow evening...I'll give you a call or post as soon as I have a plan. |

JP- Yep, irony once again lost in the interwebs. I even put a smiley in to drive it home. Hope you find a way to bring the bike down; my wife would just tell me to shut up & leave the bike. As for the migraine, you have my sincerest condolences. I get ocular ones myself & go practically blind for about a half hour. Once they go away I could sleep for a day or two. I don't know how you can be looking at a 'puter right now.
Eric- I'm on the road (from Framingham) at 4:30. See you, I dunno, 5-ish? |

Jpb..... If ya want you can borrow my Touring seat for Audra. It makes riding on the back much better for her. My girl can't ride on the back of my bike till next year so I won't be needing it anytime soon. |

Scotty - I know...I took it as such - no worries! just felt like explaining. As for the migraines - I don't have light or vision problems (other than seeing stars), my problem is movement...sitting I'm ok...get up and holy cow look at all those stars.
For now it's doing well...ie: the drugs kicked in. Sorry I'm missing you guys...I was all set and ready to go last night and then...it hit me!!!
Damnut - that touring seat sounds like a much better alternative to the bicycle gel seat I have tied onto my stock seat. Will it fit the '05 XB12sCG??? If so...then I may just be meeting you at your house on Saturday morning.
I've pushed about enough...don't want this head pounding again...till the am! |

Guys-
Eric hooked up my TPS reset and holy cr@p! The thing used to bounce and bitch as I rolled it on at a green light, now it's smooth as a prom queen's thigh only not quite so risky (props to whoever can place that reference). |
