I stopped in the local Buell dealer and had a look at the new bikes and I really like the looks of the transparent airbox covers they are putting on the new bikes. Does anyone know if these have the same mounting pattern as a 2003 model, I want to switch mine out. |

I like the Mesh airbox inlet by the gas cap on the new covers... |

Bolds right the happy heck up, choose Kick Ash, Hero Blue, Cherry bomb, or the fast Valencia Orange, all for your clear air box enjoyment |

If you order the newer airbox assembly, does it come with the mesh screen or is that a separate part? Also, if anybody can post or PM me the part numbers for the translucid valencia orange airbox assembly, new style inner airbox cover and windscreen I'd appreciate it. |

06 and up airbox covers have the screen included, all the other ones don't have the screen |

I never really cared for the translucent bodywork... Seems gimmicky, like it would grow old REAL fast like spinner rims and Neons. Like the Buell's themselves I guess they are an either LOVE them or Hate them kinda thing. That is what I love about the Buell. That Cherrybomb would look hot if you painted the inside charcoal silver! |

Last I checked I think all the airbox's were about 160-180. I don't think the prices changed with color or transparency |

I put a translucent blue cover on my white 9R. It definitely draws attention. It's fun to watch people do a double take when they first see it. The best line someone asked: "Is that plastic?" Um, no, it's transparent aluminum, and I'm gonna be rich cause I invented it! Oh, and search ebay for the covers. They keep popping up every few weeks, and they're cheaper than new. That's where I got mine. (Message edited by vanvideo on June 22, 2007) |

Question. I'm thinking of buying a carbon fiber "ram air" cover. Anything special need to be done? |

When I bought the Cherry Bomb plastics, the A/B cover was $145 and the flyscreen was $55, but that was last July when they released the new color. With shipping they were just a tick over 2 bills. BTW Appleton had them in my hands 8-10 days after the color was announced. You can do some neat stuff with the translucids:

" Question. I'm thinking of buying a carbon fiber "ram air" cover. Anything special need to be done? " If your getting the one from american sportbike, you will need to cut a small hole in your inner airbox or you can get the open airbox kit. |
