"Whats the story on the two yellow blasts all prettied up in race outfits.... they look fast."
Fast is a relative term! While both are my bikes, #763 is the Blast JProvo races and is street fast (about the same as EZ'z bike). The other is just my street bike and is mostly stock (but soon to change).

Which Givi is that, Magster?

Mabueller: It is the GIVI A760. I went to Biketoberfest in Daytona last year, right to the GIVI dealer tent and they attempted to do an install for me. But, using the stock mounts, could not do it.

I went home, ordered the screen and my husband mounted it himself with some minor modifications.

At the bottom end he used longer bolts and you have to tweak flyscreen brackets just a little (lock-tight it). The top brackets mounted right to my mirrors - which gave me an added benefit of a little less vibration.

Easy install - less than 15 minutes. And I am very happy with it.

Ok, after buying a stock one almost three years ago here's mine with some small mods. More to come, but when, I don't know!

Swampy

I talked to the Husband of the woman who bought my Blast today and while she may.. or may not ever ride the Blast again, their kid has fallen in love with it. He already fixed most of the damage (shifter, clutch leaver, etc) and has been riding the heck out of it.

You gotta love these bikes...and Sage you have some of the greatest riding areas. Can't wait to get back to that neck of the woods.

Magster

How did you hang those bags? I have a set of nelson rigg bags and I can't find a way to put them on without having those ugly/uncomfortable straps laying over the seat. Got pics?

Great website by the way, good humor, did you ever return Dennis?

My husband obtained 4 sheets of polycarbonate from a buddy. He cut them to match the contour of the bag. He put one piece on the inside and one on the out for stability. The top was then mounted to the bike utilizing the bungee strap holes up under the bike, just bolted right to them. He had to cut just a little bit of the plastic off on the back part of the fender for the screws to fit. It is fairly solid and stable (so far). Sadddlebag stand-offs would work probably a little better, mounted the same way to the bungee strap hook-holes. We would have preferred that but we were in a hurry.

The trunk just sits on the seat and has built in cords. The back two hook right under the frame and the front two straps pull down and hook right in front of the passenger pegs on the frame. That bag comes off in a snap for me to take inside when needed. I will try to get some pics posted before we leave Friday.

Yes we returned Dennis, but miss him. He moved away a few months back. We have been trying to find him, it would be nice to have him along for our trip this summer. As of yet, he has not been located. Only got ‘till Friday so it is not looking good. Have been scouring the neighborhood looking for a stand-in, no luck in that department yet either.

Hi Swampy - Looking to try and get to Maine. We always just fly by the seat of our pants and let the trip evolve itself, so we may or may not make it all the way up there. Plan is to do I-75 to get to north Florida and then get off the big road around Lake City and start our back road northerly trek. Want to spend a day or two at Adirondak Park and then continue NE to Maine.

If all goes well we will have some fresh lobster before our return. I hear it tastes better up there!

Thanks for asking - you doing well? Any big summer plans?

Nope, nothing special. Rode the Tunnel of Trees, Leelanau Pennisula, and Bellaire area this weekend, I found the serious twisties in Michigan with lots of help from Hardcorps. I have to check out the top end on the Big Kids Blast as its doing some serious knocking. So if you ever come this way again post up and we can get a group together for a ride.

AAAHHH - The Tunnel of Trees - that road was one of my favorites from my trip last summer, scores points on beauty alone.

Hope wrenching on BKB goes well.

Will keep in touch.

The air cleaner is actually a HD Twin Cam, Screamin Eagle hi-flo filter (part number 29773-02C). It is a direct bolt on, once you strip the Blast of its stock air box setup.

Rear view of my 2000 {sorry no rear views of Genia (Gina)}

Note the totally worthless turn signals. They look cool but but I think flicking a bic lighter would be brighter than these.

Yes it has only one mirror. I found this set of mirrors that I think looks great on the bike. Only one problem... they are Yamaha mirrors, the right mirror is left hand thread. Anyone have a solution for that?

Erik
Still no package yet.

I bit the bullet yesterday and cut up my good brackets to mount the Givi. I'll have to adjust the Givi forward a bit, or drill new holes so I can put the turn signals back on.

I don't know if I am too impressed with this fairing yet. It helps a lot but I may eventually go with the regular Buell windshield. I'm kinda spoiled by the windshield on my RoadKing.

The stock flyscreen brackets usually bend back very easily, like they were designed to do that.
I would have sent you better brackets had I known!
Windshield looks nice though and I can see why you like redheads.

I woulda never guessed you even had turn signals!

Erik

Guess what was sitting on my front porch today? Yup my care package from you! I need to learn to have some patience. I haven't had time to look it over yet, I was too busy cleaning up the aftermath of opening the package up too quickly in the kitchen. Foam peanuts everywhere.. LOL..

No big deal on the brackets, I swapped brackets between the 2002 blast (which were slightly bent) and this one so I didn't cut up the perfect set. I'll straighten up the ones I got from you to mount the buell windshield should I decide to go that way.

Thanks for the complement EZ!

Xgeco,
I bought a set of those adapters, problem is.. they adapt a left hand hole to take a right hand mirror. I need the opposite, I have to adapt a normal bike to the strange and confusing world of Yamaha.

Slow they do make then for the other way too. I bought a set in Japans version of Walmart(Sekichu) for a favorite set of mirrors that were Yamaha
