I guess he's got the Harley mind-set; I bought this bike for $14,000 and added a bunch of accessories, so I should be able to get $17000 for it. |

Does it make sense to invest $14K and then sell it for $8.5K? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/mcy/352884708.html |

Yeah, I think that the S1 is actually the worse of the two because we actually know how much all the crap costs that he put on that bike. If he paid that much for that crap he obviously got it from a dealer with a huge mark up in price. Theres no other explanation for that kind of BS. |

BS is right.I paid less than $800 for a front PM wheel less than two years ago. That means the rear is $2200 according to him? That's much more than a top of the line carbon fiber wheel! BS! Wow.... |

I probably shouldn't bust the seller's chops - I'd like to get my 15G's back outta my RS, but I've decided to at least stick my toe into the real world and try to get around half of that for it. At least I know enough not to uglify the bike by standing in front of it! AL |

Looks like he bought the bike used and in it's current condition. I see a fews mods in the pic. Appalachian isn't even a Buell dealer, just a typical Mega-sized Chromatorium. Former owners (Howells) was an early Buell supporter and had a nice 'modest-sized' shop. IMHO This guy got gouged by the dealer and is trying to make it back. Bret |

Hmmm, I read the ad again. He may have bought it new. Figuring in full MSRP, ($12ish) freight, prep, tax, etc, he prob did pay at least $14!! Too bad when 2 years later you could still find leftovers tubers for about 1/2 of that! |

Maybe I'm hopefully lost in dreamland but with only 763 S3Ts made throughout the entire production run of the model, I'm thinking probably only half of those are still around and in running condition. In my color/year combo [Volcano grey/Nuclear Blue] there were only 160 produced. I seriously hope they actually become somewhat of a collector item someday. I'm holding on to mine as long as I can and as for those parting them out more power to ya. This guy is obviously also dreaming but maybe he'll also help bring the price back up to something at least reasonable. I hate to think I would have to let mine go for a measly 4-5 G's if I get hard up for cash. The damn motor alone is worth that much in my mind. In reality, it probably won't happen in my lifetime though. BC Steve |
