So I have converted my M2 to the early style with the slim tank and seat. Now, I have a problem with distance of the front of my seat to the tank. It is about 1-2 inches too short. It is not fitting into the tank groove for the seat. Anyone know why? - I cant move the tank back because of the front mounting bar and I cant move the tail section forward. |

The S1 tank and the early cyclone tank are the same. What pieces did you use and are you certain that they came from a cyclone? I have a 97' cyclone and I know that the seat/tailsection/tank can be switched back and forth. This is just a guess, but maybe someone had the slim seat that you have now mated up with the bigger, newer tank. The angle that the old, slim seat is now forced to mate with is steeper than with the old, skinny tank. Because I've seen the big, new seat and tail put with the old tank and theres a pretty big gap created between the seat and tank. It would make sense that the opposite occurs when the opposite parts are mated. Just a guess though....... |

CrashBuell, thanks, but I believe I have the right components. The tail definitely cannot go forward and the tank is prevented from going back b/c of the front mounting bar. The tail came with the seat and I got the tank separately. (Message edited by interceptor on June 14, 2007) |

Christian I don't remember the recess on the tank where the seat mates up, my S1 is a 96. Joe |

Christan I was wrong my tank has the recess but is completely covered by the seat. My seat has a squarer profile than yours shown. Joe |

Also, my early style M2 tailsection bolt holes do not line up. I have the front ones bolted down , but that leaves the rear ones out with no room to get a bolt in. |
