So I think I've worked out better schedualing for this summer, so I'll be getting a 2 day weekend about once a month! Well some may remember my Mem. Day 2 day weekend, and the 1200 mile trip through WV and PA. This past weekend I had Monday off again, and this time my father came along for the ride. Found a certain little city on a map, and decided we HAD to go there. So we decided to head straight to Hell.
We took the long way there, heading up to Sandusky OH first to see a bit of the last day of the Ohio Bike Week. Then on up into Michigan. The place is located about 20 miles northwest of Ann Arbor, in Pinckney State Park. Beautiful area, Crappy Roads! If they were all paved halfway decent, and didn't have major gravel thrown on them, they'd have some GREAT riding up there! I can't believe Hell was on any map, because when we got there, the entire city consisted of 3 buildings: 2 gift shops, and a bar/grill. Apparently there are some houses hidden around somewhere, because it says the population is 200. So we hung around there for a bit to snap some pictures, and then we moved on.
My personal Favorite:
We headed over to Bruin State Park Campground (10 minutes from Hell) and set up for the night.
Then took the long way home Monday. 95% of the trip was on 2 lane roads. Too bad as soon as we left the state park in Michigan, everything was dead straight and flat. Total for the trip was under 700 miles. Not excessively long or twisty or anything, but hey, now we have T-shirts that say we've been through Hell and back. Had a great time as usual. I love this bike. (The Ipod is nice too)

You totaly should have dropped us a line before you left! You could have put your tent up in my backyard! I live just east of Ann Arbor. There are a couple of good roads very close to where you were. You just have to make the right turns! |
