I will be trailering my Uly to Door Co. Wisconsin this Saturday for a weeks stay. I would have riden but my wife, sister-in-law and two year old some won't fit on the bike Any words of wisdom on preferred tie down points? Thanks in advance for your input. Also, any suggested points of interest that cannot be missed? |

Soft ties are a must. Anchor above the bottom triple tree. For the rears use the grab handles nearest the body. Have you looked at the Baxley chocks or something similar? A little spendy, but we used ChadHargis' chocks and they rock. Making loading, securing, and unloading a dream. |

Yes, soft ties. I just got back from trailering it for 1300 miles round trip. Soft ties (a name brand good set) around the bars (you can pop the wiring out and move it out of the way) and then soft ties to the grab bars. It was in an enclosed trailer and when used with a set of ancra ratchet straps, the bike never moved. But it straps down nicely. I also had the front wheel in a chock. |

I have a toy hauler and use the baxley chocks. Soft tie downs on the front to pull the bike into the chock and then ratchet tie downs on the rear grab handles. I am not sure what I am going to do with fiance's Scg now that she sold of her f650GS., but will figure something out. her bike is so small maybe I'll just toss it into the back of the crew cab. |

Soft ties a must, only ratchet straps, other pull loose, don't let anything metal touch the swingarm or it will rub off the paint... |

Any of the dark painted parts will rub off with soft straps. I tie the rear down using the section by the pegs and it has rub marks now. At least they are down low and not noticeable without looking for them. |
