I don't know squat.

I mean some loosers say that . . I am one of the loosers who'd gone the extra mile and PROVEN it!

From the sounds of it, I'm not sure that Destroyer's BMC-employed friend gave up anything of note. He was probably enjoying tormenting his friend. LOL.

Won't the first hybrid powered motorcycle be a real ground-breaker? The ZTL system turned generator is sure to rock the industry. 70 MPG in the city can't be bad, yes? joker

One month and a day and counting!

This is torture. I feel like a little boy on the night before Christmas. Does Santa Buell prefer milk and cookies or maybe Scotch and Okra? : D

Some one, maybe an Anony, please advise. : )

STOP IT, JUST STOP IT. I'm so addicted to this thread. I'm getting no work done because I have to keep coming back here every five minute to see what the next speculation is AND WE HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER MONTH! I feel like a mental patient bouncing off the walls until he gets what he wants. I'm ready to put another bike in the garage too, my bank account isn't so much liking the idea though.

Water is so old fashioned. Shouldn't we expect something much more advanced from the world-class engineers and innovators at Buell Motorcycle Corporation?

Environmentally speaking, and considering the nasty ethylene glycol poisonous stuff and all, liquid cooling is not so friendly. How many poor unsuspecting innocent pets and other hapless critters must die before we do away with the stuff?

How about using dual state liquid/gasseous CO2 removed from the atmosphere? Now that would be an advanced technology cooling system that is environmentally friendly. : b

Maybe, they will surprise us all at homecoming and give us a peak on the last day as a gift. There's no reason why they shouldn't.

All I can say is, if it isn't a world beater, I will be forced to put that deposit down on the yellow 1098 sitting on Chicago Cycle's showroom floor.

I feel like a frustrated kid going through puberty again. Wanting to get some so bad, but continuously being told to wait. Or I'm saving it.

Come on, just give up the panties.

Well, here's a relatively minor update that I think we'll see on the 2008's (at least those that have air-cooled engines ). I found this posted on Sport Twin:

"The big changes are an internal oil pump , different EFI, CPS (Crank Position Sensor)instead of a timing cup (no more volcano) ,and new light weight rods. I'm sorry to say no pork chop flywheel for now."

Put that with this from the Winter 2007 issue of Fuell:

oil pump

oil pump description

The fact that the oil pump is one of the only die cast pieces on the XBRR engine would sure seem to indicate they intend it for mass production. The oil pump drive gear is one of the few (from a reliability standpoint) weak points of the engine. That would fix it once and for all.

>>>There's no reason why they shouldn't.

Informational security.

In fact, I'm getting rumblings that they are not even going to tell the dealers, the 2008 MY literature will be sealed and all bikes will be shipped in impenetrable shipping crates.

The goal is to sell 8,000 units prior to anyone actually seeing the bike.

Early buyers will be blindfolded.

By the way . . there has already been a showing of the new model . . it was just unintended. Good news is a couple Elves were quick enough.

Remind me to tell you . . .

Court, I'll drop my deposit off, sight unseen, at Liberty next weekend at the dyno shootout.

I've seen an Elves "disappear behind a curtain and do a sidestep dance at the end of an aisleway" before, all they needed was some music, they be that good. Still not sure exactly what model it was.

Hello Maddack,

I rushed out and ordered a set of carbs for my Firebolt. I was a bit surprised when the dealer told me they require a 50% deposit (non-refundable) on said items. Seems a bit steep to me...

So Court, are these new bikes being built now??? or will production begin after the announcement. If someone were to tour a harley plant now, would they see next years models being built. Or do they not allow tours during new model production???

Im sure motorcycle manufacturers have thought of that. If there is an all new machine coming out good luck getting anywhere near the final assembly area.

Most manufacturers, including Halrey-Davidson and Buell, impose a moratorium on tours during the window between line set-up/prep and public unveiling of new product.

Eccckkkk.....I said "product".

: )

The term of the industry. I had to say something to Jon Flickinger after he gave a speech once. He made, over and over during the speech, reference to "product".

I watched the folks in the room tilt their heads like a 6 week old German Shepard looking at an oscillating fan for the first time.

I told him it was "product" in meetings with R&D, product planning and marketing. . . but to owners it was their . . say the word with me . . . MOTORCYCLE.

Nah . . I'd better not.

Damn! If this were just CSI or "24" I could pull that image up on my computer, change the angle on the camera, zoom up by 4 billion percent, look right through those doors, hit "enhance image" and see a perfectly clear image of the new Buells!

Or perhaps you could just enhance the reflection from the surface of the overhead light that is visible in the upper right of the photo.

Of course, it could be that picture wasn't even taken in the Buell factory. I suspect it comes from something boring like Area 51 where they reverse engineer alien technology.

Court can be a coy one....

No other motorcycle manufacturer in the world mixes its chocolate by waterfall!

It would be really great to get a picture of someone wearing a Buell jacket and helmet, trying to peek inbetween those doors.

The suspense is terrible....I hope it lasts.

Eric Buell: The strawberries taste like strawberries. The snozzberries taste like snozzberries.

Don Canet: Snozzberries? Who ever heard of a snozzberry?

[Buell grabs Canet’s jaw]

Eric Buell: We are the music makers... and we are the dreamers of dreams.

"Yup, a friend of mine works at Buell and he mentioned something big was going to be announced to dealers soon.

He wouldn't tell me what it was but from the little we talked, it sounds like a complete new water cooled engine is being made or will be use for Buell."

Sounds like Harley/Buell has more leaks than the Bismark. Court is gonna run out of fingers trying to plug all those holes that keep popping up.
