Do NOT use shockproof in the primary of a Blast. It contains suspended solids that will collect and build up around the clutch and the stator. Redline even recommends against the use of their shockproof gear lube in any Buell or Sporty primary/tranny. There are some pics of the resulting gook buildup in the Knowledge Vault, not this one, the main one. |

REDLINE can be used, just not the shockproof stuff.I think it is the 75w90 tranny lube (call or email Redline if unsure). Shockproof is excellent in the Big Twin tranny's and I used Redline 75w90? in my Sporty (& Blast) for years! (sorry,I cant get to my garage to check the bottles) |

Yes it's 75-90 for the Primary/Trans, on the race bikes we lighten it up a little or a lot dependine on trans temp and what type of racing. At Bonneville the runs are so short we use RL extra light trans oil. ... Terry |

Buelldyno_guy: What do you think of using DEXTTRON V(5) in the trans. whether it be racing or for the street ... The -05 transmission fluid the factory puts in the XB tranmissions is like water ... In BUELLing LaFayette |
