Anybody ever hear of somebody making a Trike out of a Blast? My wife is a mechanic and is thinking about converting her Blast to one for my mother when my wife buy's a new bike. | ||

Swampy: The 2000 tall seat I had was as firm as a low seat. A really nice seat. The 2002 tall that I got with my bike is very soft. And I've sat on low seats that were as soft. That could be another explanation of the greatly differing opinions on low & tall Blast seats. | ||

I would figure a Trike would be alot more manuverable than a lopsided sidecar arrangement. My mother is getting near 70 but still wants to ride a motorcycle, a trike is an "easy" option to help with her loss of balance. If someone has done this before we could use thier layout and work from that, otherwise we may have to try this from scratch learning what works as we go, which could get expensive. Gearheaderiko Shes the mechanic, I just paint them for fun. Which is good because I dont know a damn thing about fixing cars or bikes. She even went to Automotive school, while pregnant. She even runs the electrical wiring for our house, plumbing, and various handywoman skills. And looks great in a schoolgirl outfit as you can see in the picture forum post that I put up yesterday. | ||

So about that shock tab mod for the bigger avons. I did the mod and I still get some rubbing at highway speeds. Anything else I can do? Oh yeah. my mod involved removing that tab mount instead of beating it in. I'm going to a freinds shop to have a brace welded to the other side. | ||

Check for where its hitting! Then remove the offending piece as the Avons are just too nice to have rubbed away... | ||

Well, that little shock mount piece does not exist anymore. I cut it off with a DREMAL and used a 90 degree angle grinder to make it look all purty and smooth. My tire gauge dosent go to half, so I got it as close to 30.5 as I could. AND lets see. I also checked the bearings. they are in great shape. No wheel wobble at all and they stay in when I take the wheel of like good little bearings. If that dosent help I may consider heating the swingarm up via torch and doing a little metalurgy to bend that bad boy in. | ||

Are any of your fender screws sticking out? Neither of mine rubbed after the first 300 miles - maybe your swing arm is tweeked? - any way - I know it shouldn't be rubbing! GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

I think maybe his question relates to how the twins fire, where both plugs fire together, one would be firing.. more or less... on the exhaust stroke. Some newer cars do the same thing, the plugs fire in pairs, one on the compression stroke and the other on an exhaust stroke. | ||

Yes. The Blast only fires on the compression stroke. There is no 'wasted spark' like on the twins. | ||

hi-comp piston, total seal rings, SE ign., heavy duty springs, guides, and seals, SE 550 cam and enjoy! If you know how to do a 3 angle valve job, port and polish - do so, or have a local shop do so, and enjoy a screaming engine! GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

i looked all over here for the answer to my question before asking it and couldnt find the answer so im not sure were to look so i thought i would ask. I am thinking of building a flat track blast like the ones i see in pictures all the time but i was wondering were do they frames come from for those? thanks in advance |
