"Old School" is for tubers. We don't need to further separate by models.Just think of ALL the other models out there.Pretty soon we'd have better than 30 forums and would be more difficult to disseminate ideas.Hey,i don't need a separate X1 or XB12r forums. They're in either 'Old School" or XB forums.Easy as that. |

Can I get my own forum? It would be the "RS1200 converted to S2T Old School Forum" I could spend all my time writing to myself about it (instead of talking to myself, which I already do) cause I'm pretty sure I got the only bike like that. AL |

I can see both sides of this one. My S2 is an oddball in the Buell world in that it has self-cancelling HD turn signals, 1" bars (soon to get the spare heated grip set I have laying around), and initially a REALLY sidestand design (remedied with Al/American Sport Bike's replacement sideplate kit). I think being the first of the "production" bikes, they and their quirks could easily merit their own forum. However, they do share a lot of componentry and technology with the later tubers...and when you think about it there are a LOT of tubers - S1 early, S1W (late), S2, S2T, S3 carb, S3 EFI, S3T, S3T EFI, X1, M2 early, M2 late, M2 low....it could get daunting and cornfusing. To alleviate: there is another forum. Granted it is older and less used these days, but it does have model specific forums. www.sporttwin.com/forums.html. Even though it's older info in most cases, it is good info nonetheless. |

Don't apologize, Hank - WE all know that the S2's are the best looking Buells BY FAR, but it's just that there's not enough of them to warrant their own forum. Or is there? |

It might be a good place to cross- post "parts wanted" queries that get drowned out in the "classified" where I know they belong. Such as: Does anyone have a stock muffler available for an almost give-away price? |

"Old School" is for tubers." I sometimes don't bother to look at other forums on the board because I'm not relavent there, like in the Uly section. I'd hate to see the tuber section like that. At least there will always be a set limit on the number of tuber models, so the Old School forum can't get any more disparate. Just my opinion, of course. |

Don't Get me wrong Ya'all..... I love all Buells.. Id love to have an Rs or RR or S1W too, but to me the S2s are significant...If it wasnt for them, Buell/Hd. Combo, there probably wouldnt have bin ANY more Buells. HDs $$$ helped Erik to get Buell were it is today...Thus, The S2 is the Buell of all.. My S2T is Like Viagra on Wheels to me. You young studs might not understand that one! And now for seperatist issues: When I go on ebay looking for Buell parts... if I have lotsa time, I punch in Buell... 95% of the time I just punch Buell S2... Does this mean Im bias to all Buells? Notta.....Just going to see what I wanna see....S2 Parts...Not all Buell parts Sorry for ramblin on , But I guess my TPS is on the end of my right Arm....OLD SchOOL!!!!! Over to Who? Hankb...... |

Thx Ducxl Guess Im just partial too S2s.. In 1991 I contacted E.B. about importing bikes to Canada...I had the paper work ta prove this, which I sold here on BWB so it would be appreciated..Anyhow, the bikes were in-admissable due to no DOT approval on the PM wheels and braided brake lines...Plus, EB hadnt applied to Trans Canada for the proper DMV paperwork. I worked with the Harley dealer to try to import...Then along came the S2s... HD now involved, looking for dealers... My dealer managed to bring in 5 1995 S2s. I bought one and Sold 3 others for them... In 1996 they brought in a S2T and an S1.. I now own the S2T... My involvement with Buell and HD is fairly extensive.. Ive bin to Road America twice on a Buell s2, Met Erik and Court. Was one of the first to tour the HD factory in 1980, before tours were possible, I Stayed at Carrol Reswebers house....Hd racing champ from the early 60s and this will be my 25th yr at Sturgis...Twice on a Buell s2. So I guess you could say, Im an S2 Veteran... And ur prob all thinkin Full Of Shit... LOl.... Sex on Wheels..Ride a Buell! Enough siad....Hankb.... |

Ducxl.... Heres a bed time story for ya... Nothing ta do with Buells.. Sturgis 1984... I am at this rest stop and In pulls Willy G. He spots my bike... A cross between a 1955 Panhead & a 1977 FlH. I did the tin style pan covers on the forks etc... I called it a Heritage and put the 1980 FLH heritage stickers on the front fender and some of the other panhead stuff on the bike to give it that vintage look.. 2 tone paint job... Willy says he loves it...Low and behold... 2 yrs later we Have a Heritage softail... Go figure..! Anyhow, before he leaves me, he says...Do you still have vin # 97 of the 1977 XLCRs. ..I didnt get a chance to answer him or how he found out I had it, cuase the South Dakota skies opened up and he ran for his truck, while i procceded to get soaked... Ok...I will off now and leave you guys alone...LOL...Hankb... |
