Can some of you help me out....As you know there is a problem with the Firebolt headlights. I would like to see if there is also a problem with other XB model lines headlights too..XB9S, XB12S, XB12Ss, Uly..etc... Can some of you pull your headlights apart and look to see if the chrome coating is blistering, black, yellow, bubbling, gone.. Leave model..year....mileage.. thanks... |

I've got my headlight assembly off my Super TT right now. I'll take it apart to see. But I highly doubt there is a problem. The lights on both my wife's '06 CityX and my '07 STT are identical in light output. |

The low beam lens on my 03XB9S melted. The complete light components were replaced, I am now careful to change to the high beam periodically during the day. 2000 miles since the replacement--So far so good. PS - It had the original bulb - not a replacement (Message edited by old_man on June 01, 2007) |

Thanks for everyone input.. I would like to ask has anyone tried to clean the inside of the headlights. Say...running a rag inside to see the coating comes off??????? Or uses a wet rag to clean the dust out and see if the coating comes off??? Thanks... |

Rd, Opened my housing up to clean off some "haze"... Coating wiped right off! But only in the area directly above the low beam bulb. It only affected the beam a slight bit though, and I've only used stock wattage bulbs in the factory configuration (one on at a time). The reflectors on the S seem to be constructed of chrome over clear plastic. They seem to be coated on both the bulb side and the backside. |

Those are LSL Mig lights on Bads1's bike. About $400 for a pair. Al carries them he is doing some dimension checks for me, so can see if they will fit into the fairing on a Firebolt. (Message edited by gowindward on June 01, 2007) |

Those LSL lights look great! Are they easy to mount/wire? |

roadrailer, the mig lights are very easy to mount. you have to wire plugs on the end of them so they will plug in. but that was easy. they are $400 for the light then you have to buy the mounts. all in all it is about $500 all said and done. but they are very bright. the beam is more focused than stock.
i looked at my stock lights. they have about 8,000 miles on them they look brand new. and will probably be going on my g/f blast. |

when its dark everyone rides behind my Lightning. with a pair of PIAA h3 auxilliaries, a PIAA super white H7 hi beam and HID low beam it burns a huge hole in the dark. also stuck a couple LED's in the stock reaR turn signal housing, so as to affect running lights, very VISIBLE from behind. |
