I'll be heading up with the Mrs., this will be our first time together since 2000. Every year something always got in the way. I'm leaving the Buell home this year; I decided to bite the bullet and bought ourselves a 2007 110ci Screaming Eagle Ultra Classic to ride up this year (tossed in the Heritage for a down payment) - picking it up tomorrow. Should be fun....if you're looking for me , I'll be the one with the grin as long as Canada Street. |

I live about an hour from Lake George if you take the slab. Normally go up at least 1 day during the week. Hopefully going to do the same this year. I think my wife scheduled friends coming over on the weekend, so not sure if I will make it there saturday or sunday. |

Babired, I am riding up with four guys. We have a cabin. Some are going up on Saturday but I am riding up on Tuesday as the plan stands today. I have a little more bike service I would like to do before leaving. The weather might influence the plan. Right now Tuesday has a 50% chance of showers. I will be on a Uly with PA plates. |

well if next week is like this week and the last, heated gear might be a bit much. tis 81 and sunny out now, And drops down to the high 50's low 60's at night. Lake george is a bit cooler than here in Albany, but not by much. In looking at the weather forecast (not like they can get it right). Looks like thursday is the only sketchy day (rain/cooler at night (40's) ). I hate to make any guesses as I am always wrong, and don't want to be responsible for someone else freezing.. |

Hey Doon, don't worry I ain't gonna freeze! I'll probably pack heavy gear and if I don't need it send it back home. When I travel on my XB I feel like a sardine because of the tank bag and tail bag, but any input from you up there on the weather would be great! I heard it rained a lot last year at Americade. Thanks, K |

Yep last year == rain, especially on the Weekend IIRC. I made it up 1 day during the week for a bit. Normally this time of year it is hit or miss up here. This year, it seems we bypassed spring and went right to summer, as it has been really hot (80's). Just remember layers . I would assume 70's to 80's during the day and 40-50's at night as a median, and you should be ok. Although I've seen june nights get < 40 on occasion, but it is becoming rarer. |

Don, Hows the family? Hope all is going well. From the post above It seems so and glad to see that you guys are out and about. Congrats on the new addition Howdy Sir Rich, Sooner or later we need to do a ride again. As for the family; my wife is doing better although we found out two weeks ago that she'll need another surgery (not related to cancer - that's the good part) to remove her gall bladder. Hopefully that will be the last of it. Last week my father passed away from what started out a minor stroke - then 7 days later.....poof - he was 74. I was able to deal with that better than having to deal with my disfunctional family (mother/sister)- you know that can't pick them line... Now the real clincher - my 16 yr old daughter passed her drivers test on the first try (my 19 yr old son needed 7 attempts for his - he was going for a state record). Sooooooo things have been a little hectic the past 2 weeks - hence the new ride. I fell into the "You only live once" logic and decided to enjoy things for myself and family. I can't take it with me, so I'm going to ride the h*ll out of life and make sure my family enjoys it as well. And it's only Wednesday......... (Message edited by gomo on May 30, 2007) |

Babired, What luck to see you at Americade. I found it interesting in some ways and a bit odd in others - very noisy. Pretty stable group for the number of bikes. I saw a few Buells there but my group did not see any other Ulysses there. I also have a 1980 Suzuki GS1000E and I saw 2 of them there. And about everything else under the Sun. Even saw what I believe to be a bike and side car where the rider was in the side car and no one was on the bike. That snapped my neck when I passed him<grin>. Our group did some great rides around the general area and up to the Lake Placid area. Roads were great when you got away from the crowds. It did annoy me that they were only demo riding the blast when I stood in line at the HD truck. Did not have a Uly or a TT. The Lightning was in the shop and the Thunderbolt was being ridden by one of the test ride assistants. |
