the float vent hole was filled in with epoxy and then I dremeled it out like the early Forcewinders were. The original design was Ray's with the finishing touches being mine, somewhere in the carb section there is a link to the original build thread. It works very well and look nice toooo | ||

 IXU01-27 Iridium racing, 12mm thread, 19mm reach, 16mm(5/8") hex, gasket seat, 51mm height, 0.4mm iridium center electrode, diagonal 0.8mm platinum ground, resistor, .024" gap This is the correct corresponding plug to the NGK DCPR9 which is the correct heat range corresponding to the 10R12A range - the DCPR7 range is too hot, and their recommended IXU01-24 is a bit hot as well - corresponding to the 8R12/DCPR7 heat range that used to be the HD recommendation, however, was changed in 1999/2000 to 10R12/DCPR9R. Many Buellers still make that classic mistake of using the hotter MFG. recommended plug instead of the true correct heat range. GT - JBOTDS! EZ  | ||

it's a trimmed 90* ABS Elbow. The Elbow OD is a bit bigger than the spacer ID so you need to sand a bit of the elbow to make it fit. Then it's just JB Weld and a dremel to sculpt the inner edge and join the float breather hole. | ||

So then the ABS elbow ID Is smaller than the intake adapter? or is the adapter ID opened larger? | ||

Folks this isn't new Ray built his almost 6 years ago mine is at least 5 years old. That said Yes the ABS ID is smaller than the spacer ID, sanding ABS is a lot easier than sanding metal, sand the OD of the ABS so it fits into the spacer and then bond with JB Weld. The Dremel is used to smooth out the inner junction and of course the floatbowl breather. | ||

No, what I am saying is, the carb inlet is 40 mm, the ABX goes into the spacer, so the ABS ID is something less than 40 mm? | ||

yes Swampy the ABS ID is less than 40mm....not a lot and the better breathing pretty much makes up for the loss of diameter nice sign....I would have stolen it | ||

OK! Thats what I was thinking, the ABS must be pretty thin? A hardware store item? The CV 40 is probably a little too large for optimum on the Blast anyhow. Probably helps with the low medium right? | ||

I have those signals and have been very happy with them. I've ridden nearly 7000 miles with them and never had a bit of trouble (not even a bulb replacement). As for signal strength I would say they are average. They are bright enough, but they are small and they're not LEDs. | ||

No problem. I went with the flat black. I liked the lenses on these lights especially. Instead of the really bright orange that a lot of lights have, these have a "smoky" tinted orange look to them. | ||

Sking1973 - When you changed out your blinkers for LED, did you change your Flasher too? I bought the LED's today and switched the rear. They worked but blinked fast. I began switching the front, but with the LED attached, that side quit working. I could hear a sound like an electric motor. I think I need to change the Flasher since the LED's draw less current than the buld. Do you know which one to try? Thanks | ||

You can get a 'Signal Minder' from Kissan. It states (double check that) they work with LEDs. You'll have self canceling turn signals, your signals can be used as running lights and you'll have 4 way E flashers. About $100 though. Simple installation, almost plug in (the flasher part is, the running lights take a little more work). American Sport Bike also sells one - for less. (Message edited by ezblast on May 30, 2007) | ||
