Just went to the AMA Superbike races this weekend, and KTM was holding SD demos. i didn't demo the bike on Saturday, thinking I would be able to demo on Sunday. Even brought in my gear in order to do so. As soon as we get there, there's a frickin' sign "Sorry, no more demo rides available." I was so heartbroken. I really like the SuperDuke. It's sharp, edgy, and looks like a really fun ride. Not that I'm ready to part with the Uly, but it would be a nice second addition to the garage for those days when I just want to rip some canyons in solo-mode. As I'm riding home from Sonoma to San Jose, just cruising in the right lane approaching my exit ramp, this SD goes flying by in the far left lane. DAMN I wanted to ride that thing! Ok, that's all. Just wanted to vent a little. |

I feel your pain. Reminds me of all the times I passed up a gas station thinking there's gotta be one a little further down the road only to find out, when I'm 25 miles into reserve, there's none in sight. |

If you like the Super Duke you might like my 2004 Aprilia Tuono which is for sale....Fast, Naked, Upright, V-twin. |

Superduke doesn't trip my trigger, too much street bike in it..do like the 950 SM's..which is actually pretty similar to our Uly's |

I was interested in the SuperDuke, but the 2 year wait for KTM to bring it in to the USA led me to what I feel is its closest competitor, the 2007 Aprilia Tuono. I wanted to stay "orange", as I also have a KTM Duke II, but I'm VERY happy with the Aprilia --- my dealer is local, top notch, and a nice guy I've known for years. I also like the 950 SM, but since I have a deposit on a Ducati Hypermotard S, it's OK I don't have one ! |

I agree completely about the Super Duke. I've loved all the Duke's, but the Super Duke is just badass to me. Oddly enough, I've never cared the looks of the Tuono. I looked one over real good when I bought my Tuono mirrors a few weeks ago and still didn't care for it. For me, the Super Duke coming in Orange has a lot to do with it I think. Unfortunately, it is only a 2nd bike in the garage though and could never replace the Uly so I will never own one. I sure would love to give it hell at least once in my life though. |

Adrian, the Tuono doesn't do it for me. I had a Yamah FZ6 prior to my Uly, and frankly got bored with a "fake" looking sportbike. I got the Uly so my wife would be more comfy on longer trips. I really like the Uly's looks, and the test ride sealed the deal. The Superduke really makes me feel funny in the nether-regions. It just screams streetfighter! The Orange paint on the SD is tits! It's a metallic orange finish that fades to yellow at different angles. I agree with JM, that i would love to flog the piss out of it just for sheer fun! Like I said, it would be a nice 2nd bike in the gee-rage! |

I had the pleasure to sample a Super Duke this past Saturday while the Uly was having the TPS reset. All I have to say is that I am soooo glad I bought my Uly before I rode the SD!!! I have been trying to figure out how to add one without going bankrupt.......I may have to start buying lottery tickets again.... Then again, I like my Uly way too much to get rid of her. The SD would be a perfect second bike though. Way different than anything I have ridden to date. |
