Same letter for me....are the lights that bad??? Humm...kind of trying to find the shitter at night out camping with a flashlight with bad batteries...Or ridding at nihgt with a extra dark smoked face shield on your helmet...Truely dangerous for anyone not riding around in the city with the extra city lights around to help.. |

Really how bad do they get? I mean Rd3501 said hes tired of not seeing at night, are the lights honestly THAT bad? When we were at MBIV BOTH My headlights went out during a ride home at night.....I didn't even know they were out till someone told me at a stop sign. I just thought they were suckin even more than usual...I had to tailgate the guy in front of me (believe it was a jap bike because I could see pretty damn good off his lights) so I could see something anyways, just to make it home.... |

I've put out a couple emails to companies that provide mirror coating services, although they are related to the optics industry, there are two local companies that I'm hoping to actually go to and maybe talk them into getting interested once they hear of the possible number of housings that may need this service. Give me a couple days to find out. |

I am in the stock lights just suck category. I ran Silverstars for the past year but if there is nothing for the light to reflect off of it just doesn't matter.
90mm Hella lights = most awesome

Just a little minor clearancing and alignment to do, but I am a way happy camper with the outcome.

Yea they are a bit smaller than the OE opening, Ridrx - can you post a pic or two of yours? |

That looks great. I thought the 90mm might look too large and out of proportion, but they fit nicely. My personal preference is still the 50mm I think. I know there would be a small gap around them, but I like how they would slightly protrude because of the deep bezel. Midknyte, Unforunately I am still using the OE stuff. In light of the utter silence from the Buell camp so far it appears I'm going to *have* to do something about it myself. (Message edited by RidrX on May 18, 2007) |

The Hella 90mm lights were $58.75 ea. plus $13.40 for two wire connectors from Susquehanna Motorsports. Money well spent. |

do the 90mm just bolt right in after shaving of the plastic around the hole or brackets have to be made? |

You have to adapt it by either a plate like I did, or by fixing the adjusters directly into the original plastic headlight mounting bracket. Not a straight swap, but really not too hard to do. |

No luck on having someone re-coat this part, I'm going to the hella conversion. |
