I counted the changes and additions I have made to my 03 XB9S. I counted 24. How many have you made? Did anyone leave their bike completely stock? |

ZERO modifications to both of my Buells. And that's the best feedback dear Erik could get! I'm for any modification that could possibly improve handling. The engine cannot be modified without endangering reliability. And BLING,BLING, is for posuers.Damnut is my internet stalker..... |

I have no idea, and even if I did start counting I would forget a bunch of stuff. Off the top of my head I can think of about 20....

Pirelli tires, DHM sliders/frame pucks, Buell saddle/tail bags, Buell seat, Buell race kit, Synthetic oil, lots of carbon fiber, and a few other small details. |

The engine cannot be modified without endangering reliability The addition of a race ECM does not diminish reliability. In fact, it should make the engine less prone to lean running which can destroy an engine. Other changes that produce more power could, in theory, lessen the reliability, but this would then become a function of the rider and how he uses this added power. None of the 24 changes I made were made for appearance sake. All were made for function alone. |

Did anyone leave their bike completely stock? My Firebolt is almost 3 years old and is completely stock apart from tyres and brake pads. |

My bike is 100% stock with less than 2,000 miles on it. I'm still trying to get it to run correctly. Oh, plus it died on me and it's been in the shop 4 days now... |

To my "stock" 04 12S: F&R axle sliders Pucks Rizoma mirrors New seat Four. And none of those count, because they only make the bike more functional. No extra speed, handling or bling. |

I've done a lot of mods to mine too. The stock bike was obviously good enough to get me to choose it over any other bike, so I don't think people should look at guys that mod their bikes as being disrespectful to Erik and his team. I love my bike so much I like to take it apart and see how things work just so I can learn more about it and spend time with it. I have actually read my shop manual and parts manual cover to cover like a novel, and the mods are just inevitable. It's all about making it mine. I'm not big on bling bling mods though. The rule I set for myself is my mods have to either enhance performance or safety, and not purely for looks (well except for the tail section, removal of stickers and extra parts, and a little paint here and there. None of this cost me anything though. So I guess my rule for myself is really that I won't buy anything for my bike unless it's a performance or safety upgrade. The one time I broke my rule it was on a bling bing sprocket cover, and the darn thing made so much racket I ended up sending it back and putting my stock one back on. |

Firebolteric: I'm just curious why you don't run an airbox cover with vents or perforations instead of completely off? Nice mods, just curious. |
