thx to Alex and Milo we're real close to having the "Matt Ware Rides With Me" benefit patches ready to go: [EDIT 5/15/07-FB] NOTE: THIS IS THE FINAL, FINISHED DESIGN AND COLOR SCHEME we're still tweaking on the color a bit, and haven't established the final price. all proceeds, less actual cost of production, will be donated to Matt's trust fund at Chase Bank, details above. folks, as has been said all over this board, Matt's parents Mitch and Lori need our help, and we've done GREAT so far. THANK YOU! Court has "challenged" us to raise $10,000 for the Ware Family to help offset Matt's medical expenses, and we're well over half way there. and if these patches are successful, we'll be even closer. this is for Matt, and his memory. how many patches do you want, and what would you pay for them? Ferris and Milo, Thanks for the help with this. I showed the design to a few people yesterday, they love it. I'll be in for a pile of them. I'll be in touch tomorrow to get the ball rolling on production... They take a little while to get made, so it'd be best if we can get a firm number to have made before starting up... You guys rock. WHile I never met Matt I'd go for one since I feel like I know him after reading the posts here on Badweb. It'll be a nice accompaniment to my Vincent Haskovec stickers on my bike. (NO, the number 3 is not the exclusive property of Dale Earnhardt Inc.!) |

Count me in for 4 of them. How about making the background a darker blue to kind of match the old Buell logo. However, the wonderful details migh not show as well. Brad |

Bluzm2 the final artwork is 300dpi too large to post here. The final product will be righteous. Peace Milo (Message edited by milo_h on May 14, 2007) |

thx Road Thing, Thunder, and BluzM2!!! Brad, i mentioned earlier that we were still farkling on the color. well, we were trying to match Buell blue, which ain't exactly easy. after a BUNCH of looking for the right sample, we finally settled on the blue lettering on Buell.com's home page, and along with some other subtle detail changes, here's the finished product:
the border color is also our best grab at Buell gray, all in an effort to make this patch as "authentic" as possible. i think it looks GREAT, and thanks again to Milo and Alex for all the work they've been putting in to get it right. so..... .....who else wants in on this? it costs money to make 'em, and we can't just make a few. this is for Matt Ware and his family, and we REALLY need a TON of people to step up on these for the patches to be successful. thanks for listening, and thanks for caring. ps, part one: the original design we began with showed a very happy, almost playful Pegasus. "Give it some attitude," i said, "I want a Pegasus that's strong and defiant, like Matt and his family." Milo, ya done good. ps part two: it ain't no big thing to anyone who's familiar with Photoshop to shrink a large JPEG down to a postable size, but i happen NOT to be familar with Photoshop, and this image in original form was pretty humongerous. props and a shout out, then, to my very good Buell buddy Jim Corso, aka Pdxs3t here on the board, for being my "go to" for so many years when it comes to emergency photo chops. Jim, in fact, is SO cool that he's donated his unmolested '96 S2 frame for Matt's auction, just in case any of you Hooligans are in the market for such a thing. i hope y'all forgive the temporary thread jack, but this just seemed like a good time to acknowledge an old friend, who's been a GOOD friend, no matter WHAT life has thrown his way. thx bud. thank you U4euh, Kuud and Blublak! alrighty, since we last spoke we've set a price of $10 per patch, and i can tell you that these will be fully 100% embroidered (i.e. top-flight construction), three inches wide, two inches high, very Buell-friendly in color scheme, and will look totally BITCHIN'! we need to sell 23 patches to break even on the cost of production and shipping to Kristi, then anything after that goes straight into Matt's trust fund. to everyone who has already placed their pre-order here, THANK YOU! to the REST of you: you now know what the patch costs, and what it'll look like. and you already know why we're doing this. SO...who else wants to help us go "All The Way To $10K!!!" for Matt and his family??? FB |

thank you M2statz, Twig and Oldog!!! Milo deserves all the credit for the design work. he's been working with an artist friend, and they did a fantastic job. Alex deserves all the credit for actual production, and he's working with the same company that produced his "Ride Across North America" patches. when the patches are ready they will be shipped direct to Kristi, and she will be in charge of collecting the donations for the patches and getting them shipped. thx Milo, Alex and Kristi!!! two cool pieces of news: #1: an anonymous donor stepped up this afternoon and offered to fund the first run of 100 patches!!! this is fantastic news, and means that ALL the proceeds from the patches - every last penny - will go to Matt's trust fund at Chase Bank. the anonymous donor's generosity (amounting to $222.50!) is just one more in a series of fortunate events, all helping us get ever closer to Court's "All The Way To 10K!!!" challenge on behalf of the Ware Family. thank you Anonymous Donor! #2: what would you pay to have the very FIRST "Matt Ware Rides With Me" patch, signed and numbered by Alex Prior to verify its authenticity? think about it, and go to http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=4062&post=887669#POST887669 and place your bid. Ragnagwar wants Matt's patch serial #001 REALLY bad, as in a bid of $115.23!!! do YOU want it more than Ragnagwar??? thx everyone for what we're doing here for the memory of Matt and to help his parents Mitch and Lori. this feels very, very good.
